August 2, 200818 yr I could have sworn a few years back he already said it will be a Mariner. Don't blame him, the Mariner logo made him.
August 2, 200818 yr The better question is, what style Mariners' hat does he wear? The old school 'M'
August 2, 200818 yr The old school 'M' :thumb:Yes, I can't wait to see this day. Anyone want to take a guess on how long it'll be to this day?
August 2, 200818 yr :thumb:Yes, I can't wait to see this day. Anyone want to take a guess on how long it'll be to this day? 7 years.
August 2, 200818 yr He hit 398 home runs and had 10 gold gloves as a Mariner, he will go in as a Mariner with the first 100% vote.
August 2, 200818 yr 7 years. SO he is going to play untill he is 45? I say 43, so 5 years. He gets to 700 HR.
August 2, 200818 yr You have to be out of baseball for 5 years to be elected Saint. No chance he sniffs 700. He will be lucky to get to 650.
August 2, 200818 yr If im not mistaken didn't someone ask him that question before and he stated that he would wear the M's hat if ever inducted into the hall.
August 2, 200818 yr His plaque should have him wearing a backwards M's hat. 10 time Gold Glove winner - All with the M's 7 time Silver Slugger winner - All with the M's 10 League MVP Awards - 9 out of the 10 with the M's Led the League in HR's 4 years - All with the M's It's a no-brainer. Hopefully he can make it to the WS while he is in Chicago. Edited August 2, 200818 yr by ScarHeel
August 3, 200818 yr His plaque should have him wearing a backwards M's hat. The first time I as Junior play was in Chicago. A couple of buddies and I took a road trip to Comiskey Park in 1990 to see the place before it was torn down and Seattle was in town for the last weekend.
August 3, 200818 yr He should wear an M's hat. He will be remembered as a Mariner, IMO. I know he has a soft spot for Cincy, but I think that the player doesn't have as much choice in this any way. There was an ESPN spot about the lack of player choice in this decision on Sportscenter a few years back, but maybe the rules have changed.

A couple of buddies and I took a road trip to Comiskey Park in 1990 to see the place before it was torn down and Seattle was in town for the last weekend. I was at the Notre Dame/Purdue game that Saturday in South Bend. We drove to Chicago with the intent to see the last games in Comiskey. Never did as we found alternate forms of entertainment.
August 3, 200818 yr You have to be out of baseball for 5 years to be elected Saint. No chance he sniffs 700. He will be lucky to get to 650. I know that, I just believe he will PLAY untill he is 42 or 43. He will be a DH next year, and not playing the field will help him a lot. The wear and tear will be less, and he can concentrate on keeping his bat speed up. IF he plays that long, he will get close to 700, if not, you are right 650 tops.
