August 3, 200818 yr I know that, I just believe he will PLAY untill he is 42 or 43. He will be a DH next year, and not playing the field will help him a lot. The wear and tear will be less, and he can concentrate on keeping his bat speed up. IF he plays that long, he will get close to 700, if not, you are right 650 tops. I don't think there's anyway he'll play that long. I think the leg problems he has had the last several seasons have just sapped his strength. He has to cheat to hit the ball out--I've seen so many swings the last couple of years that would have driven the ball out of the park (particularly to left-center and center) that leave it on the warning track. He just doesn't have that drive in the lower body and I think all the surgeries are responsible. DHing may help some but I think the power loss will be permanent. I hope not though, I'd love to see him have a resurgence and reach 700 but I don't think we'll see it.
August 3, 200818 yr The better question is, what style Mariners' hat does he wear? &, will he wear it turned around?
