Griffey traded to Chisox

Featured Replies

I hope this move works out for Griffey and the Reds. I loved watching Griffey play and especially in his prime, imo he will go down as one of the best ever. I agree with others in that I wish we (Reds) could have had him healthy, we never saw the real Griffey, Jr. at all in Cincy. I really agree with the move, was imo time to make the move for both parties. There is plenty enough blame to go around for the Reds failures. Griffey didn't work out like everyone had hoped but things were far from all his fault. IMO you can start upstairs for that and then work your way down. Plenty of people through the years have added to the "Little Red Wagon" train wreck know as the Reds.

Good luck to Griff, it wouldn't suprise me a if he went on a tear over on the south side for the Sox.

I hope that the Reds can build on the young nucleus we have here now, add some talent and get out of the same ol' same ol' results that have been going on for years.

Swisher gave up his #30 for Griffey, Swisher is now wearing #1.

:thumb: Class move.

The White Sox think that Jr. can play CF for them. Good luck with that one :thumb:

That being said, I still think the Reds let him go for nothing and the White Sox won on this deal.

:thumb: As do I, hope I am wrong but the Sox definately were the winners in this trade imo.

That's what I think, as well. Leave it up to the Reds to screw a trade up :thumb:

Griffey gave it 110% when he was on the field. He wasn't the reason that the Reds are under .500. GL Jr.

Screw up a trade? They gained 4 million, got an arm for the pen with some experience and a utility IF guy for the farm system. What did you expect for Junior???

Griff should have been at the Sox game tonight for the show..."Ozzie being Ozzie". lol. He pulled his team off of the field after a horrible call was made against the Twins the Twins manager ejected and fans started throwing stuff out of the stands on the field when Ozzie was on the field complainig about it, then he (Ozzie) got into a shouting match with a fan sitting above the Sox dugout.

I'm still sticking with 17 hits....

I'd like to see griffey back his #24. He never got hurt until he had to change from it.

I disagree with the bold. Last saturday he didn't give 60% on those fly balls. I respect what he has done as a player, but it is time he and the Reds part.

Is Richar an upgrade over Keppinger?
Possibly ... Richar is three years younger and would appear to have more upside than Keppinger.

Griffey, can now help support the White Sox and the stadium.

100% agree with the above. Griff didn't work out due to health issues and aging. Add in that the Reds never built a team around him like they promised him and it was doomed.
