What I enjoyed was when they were talking about Biggio and how long he played at that position. They then briefly mentioned how long Concepcion played at SS and then Larkin back to back. Our Hall of Fame analyst Chrissy then chimes in, "You just can't expect to put a guy at a certain position and expect him to play 20 years." I was stunned, I really thought it wasn't that big of a deal, oh well, that's why I listen to George and Chrissy, they help with all the INSIDE INFO. :lol:

It drives me nuts how Thom rips on Kentucky all of the time too. The other day he said something to the effect of "yeah, and that's from a guy who hails from Ryle, KY." Come on Thom.
July 30, 200818 yr dmderringer, I've got to call you out. After the Reds IMPRESSIVE (by your standards) sweep of the MIGHTY Nationals you talked about how improved the Reds were. Remember this conversation? I'll give you a chance to read it and see you on the other end. Actually you will win some games scoring 1 run. If you havent noticed the Reds have won 7 of their last 10 games. I will give the offense a break for one game. The oposing team has scored 5 runs in those victories twice. Both times they scored 2 runs in the 9th. So really thats 3 runs a game pretty much for the opposing team. Pitching is what wins games. No matter how bad your offense is if you get solid pitching you win. Cincinnati has shown that over the last 10 games. The cold, hard reality is this: In the National League the Reds rank 12th in ERA, 11th in Runs Scored and 11th in Fielding Percentage. In the Major Leagues the Reds rank 23rd in ERA, 22nd in Runs Scored and 23rd in Fielding Percentage. They just stink all the way around. Its obvious that the pitching has been performing a lot better lately with the exception of Harang, hence the winning stretch. If you can't see that, you're blind. All I'm saying is that pitching wins games, not the offense. The pitching has been getting better, so have the Reds. In atleast 2 of those two runs were given up in the 9th inning. Taking the number down to 12. Which is exactly the number of wins the Reds have in the last 25. Obviously 12-13 is better than the reds have done the rest of the season. When they get good pitching they win games. That's the only point i'm trying to make. Pitching is what wins. I don't see how you can disagree with that. That would be fine if Washington had Major League Hitting. :lol::lol::lol: Let's check back after these games against the Cubs and the Brewers and see how improved the Reds pitching is.
