July 31, 200818 yr It's a long season, but my hopes are dwindling too. The worst part is how good the Central is...we won't catch the Cubs and/or Brewers and even if we do, we'll have to battle the Cardinals. The Reds could be a top 10 team in the NL and still be 3 or 4 in their division. I'm still excited about the future, though.

After the past 2-3 weeks, not possible anymore. The last post you said put up about the wild card was 2 weeks ago. That's a while, just like my post said. I never said you were negative so I don't even know why you used that word. But sarcastic....yes you can be.

Meaning they would have to play at least .600 ball to have a very long shot. Anyone that has followed this team or knows anything about it knows that not to be REALISTIC! I told you back then, and now that what I told you was to be has come to fruition, you are still in denial.

I'll be the first to admit that they have no shot at the playoffs anymore this season after the last 2-3 weeks. But when they were 7 games out with 3 months left to play....yes they had a very realistic shot.

When I posted that, they were coming off a 2 weeks period when they had won the majority of the games they had played. They were playing better, so yes, I felt they had a shot. Over the past 2 weeks they have played awful. I've taken a lot of heat for saying that, and i'm still here taking it. I'll be the first one to say that I was wrong at the time and now they have no chance. But at the time, my arguement was that they are an improved team over the past, and I'll still stand by that.

We have come to common ground. They are better than last years team, because of pitching. Offensively, they have actually declined a bit. And they have no chance this year:thumb:
