When your hitters are only getting 1 hit every 4 at bats and usually cant get 2 or 3 players doing it in the same inning, you are not going to win a lot of games. At least Dunn hits homers when he hits the ball. Keep him and get rid of some of the other dead weight.( all 3 catchers, Griffey, Encarnarcion,Patterson,A.Phillips). Even Bruce and Votto(although rookies) have cooled down.

It's ugly all the way around.

July 30, 200818 yr dmderringer, I've got to call you out. After the Reds IMPRESSIVE (by your standards) sweep of the MIGHTY Nationals you talked about how improved the Reds were. Remember this conversation? I'll give you a chance to read it and see you on the other end. Since then the Reds are 8-11, they've pitched 150 and 1/3 Innings and they've allowed 89 runs for an ERA of 5.32. So I have to ask you, are they improved or was there success the product of playing the woeful Nationals at home? I think we all know now. The Reds currently rank 21st in offense, 23rd in pitching and 28th in fielding percentage. Would you like to withdraw your assertion? Clearly they are struggling all the way around since the all-star break. However, I will not take back my statement that this Reds team is improved over past teams. Because they are. They've got more talent than they've had in the past 5 or 6 years.
