Okay a place right off the top of my head is Reno's. I love eating there but I hated the smoke, it's more of an open area so the smoke lingers wherever you sit. But it's more than that.

 

Any type of restaurant that you go in that has a smoking section the smoke just lingers and it's like part of the atmosphere or something. People have no courtesy with it either, I've seen people smoking and blow it right in the waiter's face while their trying to take that person's order. It's rude and if people feel the need to smoke then they have area's outside that they can smoke, feel free to go there if you want to smoke..

 

Or we can do what some of you want and let the people smoke inside and I guess we can eat our dinner outside on the curb and let all of them smoke inside, or step outside to get some fresh air before we eat then walk back inside to it.

 

Trust me you all (smokers) will be ok not smoking during a dinner.

There is already a ton of non smoking restaurants in NKY. To act like you don't have a choice is comical.

The Hookah Bars are still in business. . .

I have no problem what so ever with the ban on smoking in restaurant's. Step outside and smoke before, after and during your meal if you feel the need to.

 

Bars, thats another story. It's ridiculous. I think it's obvious that most people out at the bars and clubs at 2 or 3 in the morning pounding Jager bombs and Budweisers aren't that concerned with their health to begin with.

 

I'm just waiting for the day that the government is so in control of my life that I am denied the french fries I ordered and am forced to eat the steamed vegetables because I'm a few pounds over weight.

Ok maybe not a ton but you have some choices. Even when I did smoke I hated when someone was smoking at my table but other than that it doesn't bother me in places where I eat.

O-kay here's the opinion of a newly non-smoker.

 

I can't stand the smell of smoke anymore. If I stand next to someone who smokes it makes me sick. I would rather I never come in contact with smoke anymore in my lifetime. Now that being said............................................I can't stand the thought that the government is telling you what you can and cannot do. If you don't want to smell the smoke then go to an non-smoking establishment...trust me they are there. If you choose to go to an establishment that allows smoking then you truly have nothing to complain about. I am just so worn out with people tell others what they can and cannot do. Smoking offend you....well little cute blonds offend me but I just don't believe the government will ever put a ban on them:D Am I being silly? No I don't think so. There are so many things in life that offends people and you just can't ban them all. Big old trucks that end up being in traffic in front of me and the toxic fumes coming from it makes me sick....standing anywhere next to a vehicle that is parked and having those toxic fumes slam into my face offends me...etc..etc...there are just somethings that will never be banned and they are just as dangerous to your health as a cigarette is.

 

I am also very tired of the Government dictating what we can and cannot do. If you want to drive without a seat belt, have at it. The only person your hurting if you don't wear a seat belt is yourself. Drive a motorcycle without a helmet, the only person you are hurting is yourself. Smoke if you want. The only person you are hurting is yourself. I have the choice to not be around you and I will move. There is a resturant that I don't go to because of the smoke. And in all honesty I will go if my friends are going and it is a fun night out, but I really don't feel like once in a Blue moon the smoke in a resturant is going to be a life altering experience. Easy solution is I just order takeout. What's the big deal.

Funny thing happened today on I-75. 2 guy's riding with no helmet's and blowing the crap out of our car driving at 65 MPH. We have to use seat belt's and hope the heck we don't hit them if they wreck. Why don't they have to wear head gear?

Well not really, by not wearing a seat belt your chances of getting hurt increase and if you don't have health insurance you will be costing taxpayers a ton of money, and if you do have health insurance you are hurting those in your group by increasing the cost of your plan. Maybe you don't understand but smoking in a public place hurts not only those sitting with you or around you but those who work their. Being one who had no choice but to stand behind a desk and have someone blow smoke into my face sometimes just a foot away, taught me, that a lot of smokers could care less if their smoking caused you problems.

Most Day Care's (like the one my wife works at), and schools, already do ban peanuts!

So now you're taking my rights away. It's my right to go where I want, if just so happen that it's a smoke free establishment then whatever. If they want to force that upon places then it's fine with me.

How so? You want to take the rights away from the guy who's putting his money at risk by telling him what he can do with his establishment. What gives you that right? It should be up to the owner to decide, not you or the state.

I'll be really surprised if thise get's passed. Bars all across NKY have experienced an increase in business because of the fact that they allow smoking. I personally love non smoking bars, but if I was a business owner in NKY I'd be doing everything in my power to make sure that NKY doesn't go smoke free.

 

On a side note, I don't smoke, but do dip, and know of alot of people that are dipping more when out because of the smoking band. Makes me think dip company's have to love this type of no smoking movement.
