June 26, 200818 yr Than I must be naive and my standard of dirty, is greatly different than yours. Would you consider pitchers in MLB who intentionally throw at or hit opposing batters as "dirty" players?
June 26, 200818 yr Would you consider pitchers in MLB who intentionally throw at or hit opposing batters as "dirty" players? Depends. At their head area? Absolutely. Otherwise, no.
June 26, 200818 yr Laimbeer gets my vote. He was the Conrad Dobler of the NBA. Here's a link for those unsure who Dobler is/was: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conrad_Dobler In this one, they name Dennis Rodman as the dirtiest player in the NBA http://espn.go.com/page2/s/list/dirtiest/players.html
June 26, 200818 yr Would you consider pitchers in MLB who intentionally throw at or hit opposing batters as "dirty" players? There are many pitchers, who have hit batter and some without question intentionally and some, by accident. Those who throw at or hit batters intentionally, are often doing so, as a result of an incident or retaliation. Drysdale and Gibson, were two guys that would get you off the plate and that is part of the game. I see no where, in either NBA or MLB that using your fist to assault another player, is acceptable. With that said, there have been many fights as a result of HBP's but when it happens, one made the choice to confront/charge the other and then a mêlée ensues. Sometimes players get hit by a pitch and go to first, with no reaction. I've yet to see a no reaction, from a punch in the face. Kermit Washington assaulted Rudy T and if done today, would be facing possible charges. I call his choice of actions that day, dirty.
June 26, 200818 yr I've never really thought of Dennis Rodman as a dirty player. I just think he outworked everybody else. Really? A couple times in those finals I thought he and Karl Malone were about one more elbow from throwin' down...
June 26, 200818 yr Really? A couple times in those finals I thought he and Karl Malone were about one more elbow from throwin' down... Just because they were ready to fight doesnt make them "dirty." Tempers flare. People react.
June 26, 200818 yr I grew up in NYC watching Oakley and those Knicks. I think Anthony Mason was the dirtiest guy on the team then. Xavier McDaniel also played a little dirty; anyone remember when he almost broke Scottie Pippen's nose? My top 5: Laimbeer Rodman Karl Malone McHale Artest
June 26, 200818 yr Shaquille O'neal is dirty. I can remember them playing against the Bulls when he was a Laker. Brad Miller was with the Bulls also. He had thought Miller had fouled him hard when it was actually Oakley. The next thing you know Shaq is throwing punches at Miller with Miller completely facing the other direction. Shaq was trying to land sucker punches. I will say he wasn't dirty all that much, but when he was it was obvious because of his size.
June 26, 200818 yr Bruce Bowen is a little dirty, but he doesn't cause any serious harm to his opponents. The things he does IMO aren't all that bad. He's a heckuva defensive player IMO.

June 26, 200818 yr John Stockton Karl Malone Bill Laimbeer Dennis Rodman Jim Loscutoff I have never heard of one of these guys! Who?
June 26, 200818 yr I have never heard of one of these guys! Who? Where is the smiley face after your post? There's no way you've never heard of any of them.
