June 22, 200818 yr Before this series began, New York had won 38 of its last 48 home games against NL opponents and was 71-31 all-time at home in interleague play. The Yankees are now in danger of suffering their first sweep at Yankee Stadium in an interleague series. Andy Pettitte (7-5, 4.29 ERA) is 3-3 with a 4.05 ERA in nine career starts against Cincinnati. Johnny Cueto (5-7, 5.19) won his last road start at Florida on June 6 after posting a 9.87 ERA in losing his previous four road outings. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/preview?gid=280622110
June 22, 200818 yr Not every game, just fairly regularly ... and besides, I was right. And my opinion was challenged, in part, because I'm supposedly a "disgruntled Cubs fan" ... In any case, pardon me for continually being right about something ... I guess pointing it out makes me a bad guy. So you want to continue to pat yourself on the back for claiming that Patterson sucked (even though everyone was in agreement)? Gotcha. Go right ahead if that makes you feel better about yourself.
June 22, 200818 yr Great debut. The only thing you can nitpick on is 8 baserunners in 5 innings. Fortunately, he had the stuff to get out of those jams.
June 22, 200818 yr I'm so glad to be back from vacation to see Corey Patterson in the lineup. The Reds desperately need his bat in the lineup. I noticed that Hopper was activated, and went 2-5 in a start while I was gone. I guess that wasn't good enough to earn playing time over Dusty's favorite player. :irked: Don't worry about it anymore, I quit last week. Last Saturday after tying the game at home in the 9th w/ Burton and CoCo not being used yet I told the people I went to the game w/ that at least if we they get beat in the next 3 innings it will be w/ their 2 best relievers. Figuring that there was no way they would be needed the next game w/ Homer on the mound they could have gone 2 innings each and Papelbon was already used. Basically, I'm done counting on Dusty to make the right move. I wouldn't be surprised if Patterson goes today against Pettite.
June 22, 200818 yr Anybody notice how Krivsky has set himself up to be the Mets' GM? I thought the same thing when I read of the hiring.

June 22, 200818 yr Bruce has done a great job in the 2 hole and now he is put down at 7, just makes no sense at all.
June 22, 200818 yr Dunn gets the day off, while Patterson plays against Pettitte. In Baker's defense, Patterson is 7-19 against Pettitte with a HR.
June 22, 200818 yr Bruce has done a great job in the 2 hole and now he is put down at 7, just makes no sense at all. 18 for 77 in June, 6 for his last 37 and going against a lefty may be the reason.
June 22, 200818 yr So you want to continue to pat yourself on the back for claiming that Patterson sucked (even though everyone was in agreement)? Gotcha. Go right ahead if that makes you feel better about yourself. :lol:Actually, you don't get it ... my criticism was that Dusty was hitting Patterson at the top of the order. I don't remember too many people griping about it at the time, but because I was talking about it I was just a "disgruntled Cubs fan" and how dare I post such criticism in a Reds thread.
June 22, 200818 yr Guys, bring out the brooms, the Reds are going to sweep the Yanks again as they did back in the 1976 World Series.
