I'm trying to think of last years East practice, and I believe it was 7 days everyday prior to the game. I could be wrong, I know the last week it was everyday.

I agree... Not trying to knock the kid, but the East QB threw 5 interceptions and played the whole game. This is while Clay Cecil and James Miller among others played defense... And on top of that he was given the award for best offensive back.

 

I will give him that a few times he was running for his life sometimes because the blocking wasn't great.

 

Didn't think PT was handed out efficiently either.

 

Not a knock against the West, but the East should not lose this game. Agree that there were some coaching mistakes.

Wow, how does the East lose this game? Seriously, no knock on the West team but with that talent there should be no reason why they lose. Like Silverstreaker said, this game is mainly about having fun and playing alongside the kids you played during the season but seriously.

A terrible game all the way around. The East was not prepared, the West had 4 cheap shot late hits that the refs only saw 1. The West's head coach runs the score up at the end nearly causing a riot on the last play of the game. If I'm on the East team and have a chance to run the score up on Lloyd this year, well I think I would just have to. Very poor sportsmanship, especially for an all-star game. I really don't understand why and when this game is played anyway. Alot of these kids are going on to play College and they're really not in football shape now. There's a good chance for injury. Very disapointing, very good crowd though.

I really don't understand the logic when the coach tells the MVP of the state championship (undefeadted) team that he will not play QB during the game. No explanation just go over and play defense... I understand the outcome of the game now!!!

All I'm going to say about the end of the game is it was not the West throwing cheap shots! I know nobody expected the West to win but the boys practiced hard and even changed practice times a couple days to accomodate graduations - they were sick and tired of hearing they didn't have a chance. I applaud Coach Lucas for playing the boys as an all-star team. He played everyone - unlike the East and had a balanced offense usint multiple rb's/qb's. Congrats to all the boys!

In games like these where both teams have the most talented players, coaching is everything. For that reason I am not surprised by this outcome at all.

Looks like the East wasn't as dominate as some of the prognosticators made them out to be.

Just checking the rosters and I didn't happen to notice any kids from Ludlow on the team but maybe I'm overlooking them or could this be one last slap in the face..
