Don't mislead here. A lot of that money went to Guillory. OJ likely only received about 30k. It's all wrong, but don't make it look like OJ got all of that.

 

I'm not trying to mislead at all. That was a quote out of the confidant's mouth. It doesn't matter if OJ only got $1 - its still against the rules. It will definately be interesting to see how this turns out.

He should have kept these people away, after all, he was the 'manager"/cousin/uncle/grandfather and whatever other title he added. Guess he had hi$ own reasons not to.

 

So, will the OHSAA or the governing body in WV look into stripping NCH or Huntington of titles won while Mayo played for them? After all, he wasn't an amateur.

I think there's a couple of pages in the USC athelete handbook that list potential agents, and how to make money while still in school.

Doubt its Floyd's fault. They seemed to try to cover this stuff pretty good by getting the money to OJ indirectly. I'd find it tough to blame Floyd.

Mayo is innocent, the NCAA said that they heavily checked his amatuerism before he enrolled at USC and while he was at USC and seen no wrongdoing or any kind of violation while he was there.

After digesting this info a bit. Another question comes to mind. Did they actually dupe the public into contributing to this pupet charity, or was it funded by contributions made by the sports agency. And if so did they take tax deductions. What a sickening scenerio.

 

 

I guess one could argue as to how much OJ knew about the source of the money, hopefully he wasn't aware that they were using a charity as a scam, that would contradict a lot of the post on here regarding OJ strong character. Regardless he knew the money was wrong no matter where it came from and took it anyway.

 

I could believe an arguement that Johnson is lying and making up stuff since he fell out of favor with the Mayo entourage, but it looks like ESPN has done a good job of supporting his claims through sales clerks, etc.

 

Sad story and probably all to common, unfortunatley at this point the NCAA can do noting towards Mayo, and punishing the program only hurts kids that were not involved with this mess.

I knew about this for quite a while....Not a shock at all that it's finally coming out.

Wonder if O.J. has now made more than Barkley always said he made at Auburn? If you all think for a moment that Mayo or U.S.C. are the only one's doing this (if it is true) you are very gullable.

I know that rules are rules, but is the NCAA and college basketball setting themselves up for this type of behavior by making players come to college for a year, or maybe two in the future.

I saw this today, and it looks as if it his his fault, but the guy that gave him money is more guilty and to blame. I hope this did not happen, but there is evidence that it did.

I'm currently watching the Outside The Lines report after reading the article. You're innocent until proven guilty, but Johnson has all types of receipts. A sad situation. No doubt about it that he accepted all kinds of goodies.
