Rebuild The Reds Part II

Featured Replies

I'll pass on Burrell.

Me too, no reason to get rid of Dunn if they are just going to sign Burrell

Not in the Reds case anyway...They have limited pitching as it is..No sense in trading Cueto.

Reds should go after Burrell, and looking into trading for Saltalamacchia (sp?) Rangers have let it be known they are going to look into trading either Salty or Liard, doesn't matter which.

Bailey 1 for 1, that would be my best offer.

What's the status of the Phil's Victorino? I'm guessing he's not on the FA market?

No, but right around the deadline there was a rumor he was coming to the Reds for Bronson Arroyo.

I wouldn't expect much this offseason. Walt's peeing away money left and right. The way that organization is ran anymore is a complete joke. There's no structure.

David Weathers will not be back next year.

It sounds likely that Hairston will be back.

Hopefully we'll bring back Affeldt & Lincoln.

I'd like the Reds to go after Kerry Wood. Give him an opportunity to compete for a spot in the starting rotation.

And watch him break down again?

Wood is a reliever ... and will be one for the rest of his career.

Go after Wood. Do something....

Reds don't need to spend any more significant money of RP's. Cordero already takes up enough of the payroll as it is.

Or not...Hence rebuilding...Don't go after an aging RP who has had numerous stints on the DL...Yeah he's solid when he's healthy but who knows how long he'll be healthy..

High risk, high reward situation.

I don't think he'll be a starter. But luring him to Cincinnati by giving him an opportunity to compete for a starting spot could help. Don't know, but I'd assume he'd like to start again someday.

Some discussion on the radio of a possible trade with the White Sox for Jermaine Dye. Homer was said to be the main player going to Chicago. Does anyone have anything to substantiate this rumor?

The rumor also said it was Homer and another player.

PASS

I think I'd be interested in this deal. Breaks up the lefty line-up and is a proven veteran power hitter who'd be coming to a hitters ballpark. Pretty darn good numbers in 2008 even though he is mid-30's.
