Track the Reds (Week 6)

Featured Replies

What happens tomorrow if Weathers comes off the DL? Who is gone?

Jr. looked horrible swinging the bat today.

Unless, Walt has the guts enough to pull the trigger on trades, I don't see any solution to the Reds offensive woes.

If Walt wants to keep his job, he better do something

I'm going to close this thread. It should be opened on a Monday of the week the games are played.

What trade(s) are you going to make? You have to have a willing trade partner.

Yeah , anyone would be crazy to want these guys:jump:

If Danny Ainge can take the remnants of a 23-win team and bring in Garnett and Allen, surely something can be done for the Reds. Not on that scale but at least something?

Is this team worse than last years squad? I remember one argument by the optimists last year was " hey these are close games ". They're getting smoked now. So what do we think better, worse, equal?

I'm going with equal. 70-92 is starting sound like the bar they will reach again.

The easy decision is to send Bray back down since he has options, this won't team actually make a REAL decision, as in cutting dead weight from the roster.

The Reds will now get healthy against the Cubs, not fair. :irked:

And that's why you can't compare the two sports. Joe Dimaggio and Cy Young wouldn't make much of a difference on this team.

Absurd comparison...

Things work a little bit different in MLB without a salary cap. Ainge was able to get those players from non-contending teams because sometimes it is more valuable to free up cap space than to have a player that can't help you win a title. In baseball you usually get prospects and have to wait awhile for them to develop. There is no quick fix for this situation, this is a bad ballclub.

Of couse not, they're both dead. However, DiMaggio only has one less RBI than Valentin and Young one less win than Harang, Arroyo and Cueto.
