May 2, 200818 yr Great story. All the luck to Lofton in the future. I don't want to turn this into a UK thread, but if something like this happened to a player in Lexington, there is no way it would be able to be kept under wraps like it was in Knoxville. Unnecessary. Back to the original topic. I've never liked Lofton just because of the constant harping the media does on the whole "not recruited to UK" thing. However, after reading this, it's easy to put little issues like that aside and take a bigger look at things. Congrats, CLo. I can't imagine what that was/is like.
May 2, 200818 yr He had a built in excuse to give people who harped on his lack of production at the start of the year, and to his credit, he didn't use it. He is a MAN.

May 2, 200818 yr I have always been a fan of Lofton, what a story this was. I have even more admiraton for him now and what a young man he is :thumb:. This story has nothing to do with any rivalry or anything else but admiration for Chris Lofton.

May 2, 200818 yr You have inspired many kids in the Maysville and Knoxville areas but let me tell you that you have also inspired many adults also. We love you C-Lo and your paremts!!!! Hope to see you soon!!!!!!!!!
May 2, 200818 yr Typical Chris. He has overcome every obstacle thrown at him with class and humility; and it speaks volumes that he would not use cancer as an excuse for a slow start this past season. He has been and continues to be an inspiration here in Royals country.
May 2, 200818 yr Good for him. I can't imagine how tough it would be to have to go through all college athletes have to deal with and have cancer added to that.
May 2, 200818 yr That is an amazing story. Its amazing what he went through to play. Hes always been a special player, but this just makes him legendary to do what he did.
May 2, 200818 yr I am moved by this whole ordeal. God is watching out for Chris. I wish him and his family all the best. I don't want to turn this into a UK thread, but if something like this happened to a player in Lexington, there is no way it would be able to be kept under wraps like it was in Knoxville. What's that saying about UK?? Most likely, the only reason this was kept under wraps so well is because the people who knew about this had enough (and I will use mcpapa's word) "CLASS" to keep it quiet, I'm sure at the request of Chris and his parents. When you think of all the people who were involved in his medical treatment or had access to his records...it shows the respect they all had to honor his request. Any of those people could have went to the press with a big scoop and didn't. Anyway, your comment is a great compliment fot UT. Yet another arguement for how Chris was better off playing for Tenn and not Kentucky.
