Have been to Holly Hill Inn as well. The food was very good, but they have a changing, seasonal menu. I am sure the food is always good but it is only to be taken in on very special occasions. Very pricey.

I agree. I have been there 3 times I believe and only got to eat outside once, but it was a great atmosphere.

 

I need to get to Harry's also. Never knew many people that went there, but it is on my list.

Outback used to be a favorite but they recently removed one of my favorite menu items. I guess I could get a steak out there some time...

 

If you eat on the patio or it in the bar at the Merrick Inn it is very reasonable. If you make reservations and eat inside it is much more expensive, rather pricey but worth it.

Gattiland in Ashland is great.... Their BBQ pizza is wonderful.

 

Melina Cucinna ... There is one in Grayson,ky ... Ironton Ohio ... Mt.Sterling Ky ... and one in Morehead Ky. They all are owned by the same family and a very great establishment. True authentic Italian eating at it's best. I have eaten at 3 of them. I have'nt eaten at the Ohio one yet but have to say the one in Grayson is the best.

 

CJ Maggies in Ashland Ky...... Great eating.

 

There was a place outside Maysville that was a great ... GREAT .... eatery. It was called the Roundup. Man that was some goooooooodd eating. I think it is closed now but ... It was great.

I was interdouced to Mongollian Grill a few nights ago and I think I love but not sure yet. I live across the road from Malone's but never go there and eat. What are the price's like there. I've heard its the best place in KY to get a steak.

 

I was in Lexington this weekend for Keeneland and ate at Malones saturday night. I had the Kobe style filet, it was pretty good. I would recommend it, but it will cost you some coin.

Malone's is WAY over-rated in my opinion.

If I'm going to eat at an up-scale restaurant in Lexington I would pick Merrick Inn, Murray's, and Rossi's over Malone every time.

Italian: DiFabio's (Madisonville -- best Italian place I've ate at in the state); Pasta House (Paducah); Pagliais (Princeton)

 

Japanese Steakhouse: Shogun (Bowling Green); Hananoki (Paducah)

 

Seafood: Country Crossroads (Hardin); Whaler's Catch (Paducah); The Landing (Grand Rivers)

Being from this part of the state I can comment on some of these.

 

Cynthia's in Paducah is, imo, the best restaurant in Western Kentucky. Going there Thursday actually.

 

I never thought I would see the day "The Big Apple Cafe" makes a best Mexican restaurant list :lol: Do not get me wrong, I have spent more money in the place than anywhere else in Murray, but I have never figured out how to classify the Beanroll.

 

Need to give a shout out to Matt B's (pizza joint) in Murray. Really good.

I was in Hopkinsville a couple years ago and ate at a tiny hole in the wall downtown called I think, "Po' Boys". It was authentic cajun, the family that ran it were misplaced from Hurricane Katrina, and it was goooooood.

 

Is that place still around?

 

I haven't been in a few years, but I liked it when I went last. Has it gotten bad?

 

I thought Gold Star was the Friday night hangout when you were in HS? It was when I was still in school.

 

When we ate there back in the summer, it was absolutely horrible. Hardly any sauce or cheese on the pizza. It was nothing like the one in Crescent.

 

I think it closed down before my senior year, or even maybe my junior year. I just remember going there after games for a couple years. I'd get a large cheesebread for 3 or 4 dollars and a drink. It was essentially a large cheese pizza with the sauce on the side. Sooooo gooooood. :ylsuper:
