I am glad that UK didn't land Hopson because he looked very lazy in the State Tourney this year and I don't think that would work with Coach G.

He'll have to ratchet up his intensity to play in the Bruce Pearl gameplan.

Did he also say his mom had visions from god of them winning the championship next year? :lol:

 

I've been seeing on the different threads that he is close to his Mama like Legion was, so maybe Pearl is about to get inside information like we did when we had a prophet among us!!!!:lol:

No, apparently some have no idea of what is coming. The only good thing is I think Scotty will only stay 2 years at the most.

 

Hopson has a lot of talent, but he would have to improve immensely in several areas to be NBA bound in two years or less.

He'll be a one and done so not a major set back for UK. The Cats still have Meeks next year to play the two and if healthy could fill the scoring void. Depth at that spot however is another story.

Ive read in few different sources that Hopson says he really only gets into AAU games and All-Star games. Its like the excitement of high school basketball didn't do it for him, and I don't know why. With that said he has always looked good in AAU camps and showcase tourney's so I'm sure with the intensity and competitiveness of the college game he will be in the AAU form instead of high school baller form. It's funny really, I have never saw a Jekyl and Hyde basketball player who don't play hard unless its a certain situation, but then turns it on when he wants. What ever happened to loving the game and going all out whenever you stepped on the floor. If you can't get jacked for your high school state tournament at Rupp Arena then how is it possible to go off in a small gym with numerous games being played at the same time and little spectators? Makes absolutely zero sense, all I know is that Tennessee got a good one, but more than likely is not the most horrible thing that could have happened to Kentucky this offseason.

Hopson didn't win Mr. Basketball and a kid by the name of Darius Miller won it. UK tryed to get Hopson. UK clearly got the best player in the state. :thumb:

I'm not at all surprised with Hopson's choice. After reading what alot of fans who seen Hopson play had to say, and then seeing him play in the State tournament, UT is probably the best for him.

 

BCG from UK "demands" hard work, and you must play D. RP from UofL "demands" hard work, and you must play D. UT is perfect for Hopson.

 

U of L has been playing A LOT of 2-3 zone. I don't know about the whole D thing there.

Wow I thought BCG was the recruiting machine. Guess not. Hopson is a better scorer and will be a better college basketball player that D. Miller. IMO. Kentucky needs a scorer in a bad way.

 

Hard to say because if Hopson has any amount of success as a freshman, there is no doubt in my mind he will head to the NBA. Miller will probably be a 4 year player, 3 at the least. I would almost have to give you a "Mark it down" moment that Miller will stay for 4 though.

Hopson doesn't have the work ethic and going to Tennessee doesn't improve the chances of his work ethic. Where is the kid going to play on the floor? He can't put it on the floor and go around someone on the dribble. Seems to rely on his athletic ability on the offensive end but defensively ofton at the Sweet 16 was the last one to make it down the court. Unimpressed with his approach towards the game.

 

Are you serious? The kid got to the basket at will against anybody all year long. The few games I have seen him play nobody can keep him to getting to the basket off the bounce. He has a great first step and if there is one thing the kid can do, it is get by someone off the bounce and finish around the basket.

Your lieing to yourself if your saying you didnt want Hopson here. Miller and Hopson are both nice players but imo Hopson is better. With him I think UK is the favorite to win the SEC, now without, its a tossup. But since Hopson wants to go pro asap, Miller will be better in the long run. :thumb:

I haven't seen either one of them, Hopson and Miller, play; what are their strengths and weaknesses? What is their legitimate size and weight?

You try way to hard sometimes. Hopson wasn't taken away from BCG because BCG never had him to lose.
