April 3, 200818 yr Devil's advocate here, but most of these are UK fans and he did sign with UT, so kind of puts him out of the fold, so to speak. I didn't really expect it to be hugs and roses when I first saw the thread start..... Also: A lot of the Bad Scotty talk was going on in other threads BEFORE he commited, so take all this for what it is worth. I'll bet the Vol message boards are going crazy about him if it makes you feel any better, HT.
April 3, 200818 yr U of L has been playing A LOT of 2-3 zone. I don't know about the whole D thing there.Louisville presses, plays a matchup 2-3 primarily which shifts at points in the shot clock to straight man and back. You cannot take half the game off in Louisville's zone.

Thanks for explaining to me that this is an opinionated forum or website, I think I said that in one of our earlier conversations. I do understand why Scotty gets so much criticism, he's a great player! No other player inthe state can fill up a message board like Scotty, lazy or whatever!
April 3, 200818 yr Are you serious? The kid got to the basket at will against anybody all year long. The few games I have seen him play nobody can keep him to getting to the basket off the bounce. He has a great first step and if there is one thing the kid can do, it is get by someone off the bounce and finish around the basket. The guy on the perimeter can't put it on the floor against great defense and get to the hole. He was picked away several times at Rupp against Catholic. Maybe the defense in his part of the state should be considered. I don't think UHA had seen defense until they got to Rupp. The guy is way overated! Also, yes I am serious!

I know why the MC fans want to tear the kid down, and you have some arguments in some places. However, you cant fault the kid's offensive game. You are barking up the wrong tree here. If Hopson wanted to get by Miller, Henderson, or any of the LC guys that were guarding him in the state tournament he could do it and did do it. Picked away???

Looks like we can go back and forth here, that ought to tell you something about the makeup of the kid if you say he could do this and that when he wants to. Hopson is not that good enough to turn it on and turn it off when he wants. He couldn't blow past Catholics defenders on the grandest stage of them all in high school sports and that is the Sweet 16. Why wouldn't you get up to play in a game at Rupp for your team to advance and succeed.

I'm not arguing if he did or not in the Sweet 16, but the fact that he can is without question. Why those of you keep arguing that is beyond me. The kid is a McD's All American for goodness sakes! Do you think he just has everyone on the national stage fooled? I've watched him regularly for several years and yes, he is that good.
April 3, 200818 yr BUT, everyone here can remember at least one, some McD's AA do tend to become average at best NCAA players. What worked well in HS becomes just another move on the court. Time will tell if the lazy tag was right or if the ones defending him are right. IF he is taking plays off or just wants to "Turn It On" when he feels like it, it's not going to work at the next level. AA or not, just won't happen.

There could have been help there at some point, but the man that was on him at the time never stayed in front of him all night.
