Also I believe your wrong on the Sean Garnett information. I have a close source who says he is interested in the job. He didn't apply for a transfer, but then someone from Cooper Adminst. came to him letting him know they would like him to interview for the job.

I heard the same thing. I also heard that before they came back to him he told them to hire Sullivan.

With all due respect NKY I have talked to coach Garnett himself and he has told me that he does not want the job he could've changed his mind but I don't have sources but the source. Now, this may change but I think we will see one more change in Boone County and Shawn would want that job first.

I have heard that he may have changed his mind, but that he still may not want it.

I think that many people would disagree with your assessment of Coach Brad Carr.

In my opinion, Brad Carr is a VERY GOOD coach who is not only knowledgeable, but hard-working and passionate about being successful. There are those who may disagree with his style, but very few who would question his coaching ability.

Two years ago Carr coached a group which had limited varsity experience, lost one of his top two players to injury in mid season and still produced 20+ wins and a regional semifinalist. Last year he took a team who was again limited on varsity experience and struggled during the regular season to a district championship and regional semifinalist.

Mustang is right on when he states you might disagree with his style but the man can flat out coach!:ylsuper:

The Cooper job would be appealing due to the facilities as that is going to be an issue at Scott for a long time. If you look at his current group of players he has some young talent that could continue his post season success.

Trame as a coach is a joke in itself

Terry Trame is a knowledgable basketball guy and knows how to teach the game. The problem he has is playing the game with parents and admistration. It's just not in his makeup to be a kiss-up..

Trame would not be the right guy for this job, or any job for that matter. He knows defense and that is it. Its not just the parents and adminstration he can't get along with, its the players as well. There are numerous stories I could explain to you but can't on here. It is certainly in the best interest of Cooper that Terry is not a canidate for the job.

Brad Carr would be my choice. He is a fine coach and a hard worker.:thumb::thumb:

They are still working on hiring a football coach. Also, anyone who i teaching in the Boone County system has already put in for transfers this should put to rest the Shawn Garnett possibility as he did not put in for a transfer and does not want this job. Any established head coach would not want this job as it will take 3-4 years before the program can be ready to really compete for 33rd District titles let alone in the 9th region, this should put to rest the Listerman rumors. Carr has coached for a long time but is not very good and is Sullivan wanting to leave a situation where he knows he will be the next coach at Holmes where he can compete for 9th region titles year in and year out?

This is a joke right?

Brad Carr-Scott

Buddy Pittman-CovCath Asst

Sean Garnett-Conner Asst

Tim Sullivan-Holmes Asst

All are very viable canidates.

4 great choices to start your program. How old is Pittman? I would think they would be looking for a young energetic person to lead their program

Unreal that some people can be so goofy. This will be a great job for anyone to have.

They won't go out of the region to hire this coach.

Why? I would think getting the best possible candidate for the job would be far more important that engaging in silly provincialism.

Some of you may disagree with me, but I just don't see the fascination with Carr. I would figure if he was the great coach you think he is more Kenton County kids, since it is open enrollment, would want to play for him. While I think he is better than Steiner and Chevalier, I don't think he is a great coach. He is an average coach and there is nothing wrong with that.

Most of those kids don't go to Scott because they want to play football. It has nothing to do with the basketball programs.

What's wrong with Steiner? Get into coaching if you think you can do better.

Agreed!!! frmwaydwntwn1212 doesn't seem to know his coaches too well. These guys are great teachers of the game, teachers of life, and preach toughness and hard work ethic. This is a very special group of coaches we are speaking of.
