I guess it is okay to say that Trame isn't qualified but if I say a coach you like isn't qualified it is bashing. And yes, Mullins did fall into the Ryle job, that isn't saying he was not qualified for it but he didn't have much competition.

Care to reply to post 54, or are you just going to continue to swim in the shallow end?

Wooden went 6-11 his first year coaching the Dayton (Ky) Greendevils. What a stiff. Cooper could do much better than him.

 Nice work. That's funny no matter where you're from. :thumb:

No doubt.

So far the "great" coaches list includes; Faust, Hicks, Listerman, Code, Carr, Schlarman, Hammonds, Garnett, Wooden, Pittman, Snapp, Chevalier, Steiner, Sullivan, and Henley. Anybody else we need to throw into the "great coach" list?

Nobody said all the guys were great coaches, but to say the Kenton Co. guys have done bad jobs is one of the dumbest things I've read on this website. Cooper high would be lucky to have any of the three.

Nobody said they did bad jobs, I was saying they didn't fit for Cooper. Trust me, I have lived in Boone County a long time and know all the coaches around the 9th and 10th region. I just know what parents in Boone Co. will and won't put up with and no offense to Carr or Steiner but their style of coaching isn't a fit for Cooper. Look at what happened to Nate. He was a good coach but his style of relating to players and parents was not received very well.

Maybe one of the parents should coach the Cooper until they are ready for a real basketball coach.

Maybe they should. NKY1487, I am sorry I don't know as much about basketball as you do and don't know who is a good and great coach and should bow down at your feet and thank God for the wisdom you give to me. This is a message board and like all message boards one is entitled to their own opinion and it is a shame that people like you can't give an educated opinion on why you believe a certain way. Not once has someone given a logical explanation as to why I am wrong and you're right.

Add Alan Mullins to that list. Pretty soon he will bash John Wooden.

Okay, here are some things about the great John Wooden:

UCLA's recored pre-Wooden: 287-283 (50.4%)

UCLA's record Wooden era pre-1st Championship: 285-125 (69.5%)

UCLA's record Wooden era post-1st Championship: 335-22 (93.8%)

Wooden only had 6 20+ win seasons before 1963 and had 11 25+ win seasons between 1963 and 1975. What happened in these years, Sam Gilbert, a booster that the NCAA was aware of but more importantly one that Wooden himself was aware of.

Maybe this is why Ryle has struggled despite the influx of talent. Parents running the show and not the coahes!

Hopefully it will stay that way:D

That is exactly what is wrong with Ryle and will be at CHS if Cooper doesn't hire someone who can have a good relationship with parents while still running the show. I think Sullivan can do it and I think Garnett can do it, but his desire for the position is not clear.

What about Shumate at Beechwood? He did a great job this yr! He is young and in no hurry to go anywhere w/a young family at home!

I think it will be Sullivan from Holmes.

Again, Sullivan isn't going to leave Holmes. Within the next 5-7 years Henley will most likely retire so he can spend more time with his family and son and Sullivan will be next in line for the head coaching job. I talk to Tim quite a few times a week and while he said the Cooper job is appealing, he much rather stay at Holmes and help develop the young talent coming through.
