I would be very surprised if any young, hungry talented asst coach would set 5-7 years waiting for a job that he would be in line for whether or not he stays. I could see Sullivan coming back to the program in 5-7 years but not sitting and waiting for the oppertunity.

Nobody said they did bad jobs, I was saying they didn't fit for Cooper. Trust me, I have lived in Boone County a long time and know all the coaches around the 9th and 10th region. I just know what parents in Boone Co. will and won't put up with and no offense to Carr or Steiner but their style of coaching isn't a fit for Cooper. Look at what happened to Nate. He was a good coach but his style of relating to players and parents was not received very well.

Still in the shallow end, huh?:D Post 54 still lurks, and it sure does look like you were bashing some of those coaches you "know".

As for the bolded, you do know that Nate was the head coach at Ryle for 11 seasons, won a regional title, finished runner-up another time, and left the job to take a PROMOTION to assistant principal at the school. What are you talking about with the "what happened to Nate" talk?

So far the "great" coaches list includes; Faust, Hicks, Listerman, Code, Carr, Schlarman, Hammonds, Garnett, Wooden, Pittman, Snapp, Chevalier, Steiner, Sullivan, and Henley. Anybody else we need to throw into the "great coach" list?

Bingo! Now we have added Shumate to the list!

I'll throw in Jon Jones from Gallatin County, Devin Duvall from Owen County.

If it is not Sullivan and is not Garnett, then it is a wild card and up for anyone. Also, what happened to Nate? Let's see parents complained about a letter he wrote to inspire the team that had a quote from the Bible and he had to sit during the regional title game. If Nate had not taken the promotion, he still would not be the coach at Ryle. This is a FACT. Nate had the best interest of the kids at heart and parents screwed it up!

You'd be surprised. Also, why would he leave Holmes to start a NEW program if he would only be there a few years? I'm pretty close to the source so I can tell you it will most likely not be Sullivan. He left an assistant job at Mason Co to come to Holmes and be an assistant and head coach of the JV team.

I would be shocked if he was offered the Cooper, Ryle, or Boone job and didn't take it. Like someone else mentioned he will be the next coach at Holmes even if he leaves right now.

Listerman isn't going anywhere. Can we stop it already?

I hope you are right.

I hope he ain't going anywhere. He is a great coach and CCH loves him.

I'd check your facts here. You're pretty far off, as LABS has already told you.

So Nate sat during a regional title game?

And, you know for sure, that if Nate hadn't taken the promotion he still would have left his coaching duties at Ryle?

Some of you folks throw words like FACT around a lot without actually using many of them.

FACT: Ryle played in two regional championship games and Nate coached in both of them. Ooops, your mistake.

FACT: Nate resigned his basketball position after the school year ended in 06, meaning he had already been retained by the school for the 06-07 basketball season. What you want to speculate may have happened between 07 and 08 is just that, speculation. That's a long drive from a FACT.

And you do know post 54 is still out there hoping for a response.

First, my fault on the regional title game he actually sat a District Title game. And, no he was not retained for the 06-07 season. He was in talks to move up to principal before April 15th and did not resign a contract. It was known throughout the building that the new principal wanted his own coach and was getting a lot of pressure from within, (see Ferguson), to make a change.

But you did bash coaches. First, you bashed Carr, then you bashed Steiner and Chevalier as well. Now, you're backpedeling for some reason.

As for the bolded part of your statement, I'd ask this of you, don't tell us who won't get the job, tell us who will. Then, it'll look like you know something.

Okay, when Garnett says no and Sullivan says no, then the new AD will name an Assistant within the Boone County system as new head coach. Either Noel Williams, already an employee at Cooper, or the Assistant at Boone.

If it is offered to Sullivan I doubt he would say no. Why would he? He wants to be a head coach.
