My one thought on this thread is that its another self indulgent swipe at anyone other than Northern Kentucky Schools. When thinking up threads, why not pick one that isn't just made up to vaunt your own biases?

Large school football belongs to the Louisville schools but the rest of the respective classes belongs to Northern Kentucky by far.

 

Yeah..They dominate 3a and 4a...lol...I'll give them 5a...I definately think they have the strongest nucleus of teams...Actually 1a and 2a have 1 good team in the North, but, nothing else, so I wouldn't call the area the best based on 1 team..Central Ky is stronger overall in 1a & 2a..

I have a question as to why Central KY was seperated from Lexington? That doesn't make historical or geographical sense.

 

If you want an old baromoter as to what is Central KY then go by the old Central Kentucky Conference (CKC).

 

 

In it's heyday the CKC had the following schools in it:

 

Henry Clay, Woodford County, Mercer County, Harrodsburg, Boyle County, Danville, Lincoln County, Garrard County, Frankfort, Somerset, Jessamine County. (There may have been others that escape me right now)

 

If you go by the geographic region there it is broad I'll admit but all of these schools once called themselves Central Kentucky. They even gave out CKC titles in Football (based on points of CKC opponents played and defeated), and held tourneys in Wrestling and Basketball and Baseball.

Then you aren't part of the 99% of Louisvillians that think Louisville is from the deep South.

I don't know who you hang with in the Ville, but I'd say most people from here see Louisville as a Midwestern city in a Southern state.

The thread clearly asks, which area has the best football. The simple answer is Louisville. It didn't ask for diverse, etc...

The city of Ft. Thomas has about 17,000. That's the only figure that matters. But if you're going to claim to be the best, the population argument is kind of a cop out anyway.

I am not debating that Highlands doesn't have the best public school football history in the state. I love to watch them play, because they play the right way IMO. I am just taking up for my hometown a little bit.

Well if Louisville doesn't think its a part of the South, then you should have no problem being considered part of N. Ky. for purposes of the debate in this thread. Louisville is its own area of the state... I think most people in Kentucky can agree on that.
