So let this Buckeye get this straight.

 

There are the 16 "best" teams left in the state by means of this great tournament and realistically, there are only 3 teams that have a legitimate shot at the State Title?

 

With that being said, is it fair to say that KY basketball is WAAAAAAYYYYY down this season??

The 16 teams by no means are the best 16 in the state, they are just the winners of their respective regional tournaments...

I kind of went the same way! :lol: Except, I put some weight on them being a Louisville team, and having played some REALLY great teams to get there!

^ No one is picking UHA because they play LexCath in the opener...

 

I feel like this will be the best first round game of the tourny...

I am a homer going to have to go with the Hazard Bulldogs. Would love to see a team from the 14th win it all.

Imagine my shocked face when I saw that Mason County had the most votes. They could be 5-25 with the only five wins being in the postseason and they would lead this poll.

 

They do have the advantage with the draw, but IMO no one is playing better than LexCath. They're my pick.

Are you suggesting that they are only getting votes from loyal fans ?

 

The fact that they have nested themselves in one of the top 4 spots in vertually all the polls taken through out the year has nothing to with people voting them in to win state.......

I'd say he was just stating that with the fan support, Mason Co. will get pushed over the top in a poll like this about every time. With the way Lex Cath blew through the 11th I find it hard to think they wouldn't be favored some in the sweet 16. Of course, Mason does seem to have an easier journey to the final versus Lex Cath so that could play heavily on the Knight's chances.

I went with Lex. Cath. They played superb in the region against two top 5 teams.

I too went with Holmes. How many of us are there now....3 or 4...

I somewhat agree, but the comment that got me going that he was SHOCKED that Lex Cath. wasn't the overwhelming favorite in the poll.

 

I do agree that they have played the best basketball as of late.
