When will the KHSAA have the next football re-alignment? Will the KHSAA be for-sure keeping the 6-class system for a set number of years; could this be revised in the next couple of years?

 

Any word on whether the KHSAA plans on continuing to allow schools to "play up" in class in the future?

If they keep the 6 class system I am hearing that they are going to go back to the orginal plans of everyoe playing where they fall according to enrollment.

I think they will let teams play up if it is geographically beneficial and does not create 6 team or 3 team districts. It will also go back to playing other district in playoffs instead of own, this could take place this year.

I believe the realignment takes place every 2 years, which would be after this season.

They should have the new realignment done by late spring. This would obviously be for the 2009-2010 seasons.

This is a very good question and only time will tell. However, I have heard several different times that a Super-class would be added. This Super-class would have the largest schools plus any school who wanted to play up. All the rest would be placed according to enrollment with No exceptions. The question I have if this holds true is would it be back to 4 classes and then the Super-class? Could it be the 6 classes like now and then add the super-class on top of it? I really haven't heard many details as for how it would be done but am hearing a lot of talk about this so called Super-class.

I'm not sure the KHSAA is even considering it so it is impossible to know what they would "use". If I had to speculate, it would be male enrollment since that is what they have started using recently, isn't it?

We are just speculating but a multiplier is a horrible idea because it wouldn't address the major perceived problem.
