It's easy for fans of Mason to laugh off Elliott and not take them serious..People on here love nothing more than to slam Elliott..My statement is, Remove 3 out of every 4 players from Mason's team (as per enrollment numbers) And see how they stack up with teams across the state. Is Elliott a premier team in the state?? No.. Are they a team that for their enrollment size is doing things extraordinary?? Absolutlely!

Congrats to Mason Co!!!!! A very big win. It looks as if both schools win thier respective region it will be a one and done in the sweet 16 for Elliott Co. Mason Co. has way to much for Elliott Co. to handle.

Billy G. made a quick trip back from LSU today. He probably liked what he saw from 3 players especially tonight. Obviously Darius, Russ Middleton, and Jonathan Ferguson (sp). I thought this was the best game I have seen Russ play all season, for he shot very well and didnt force anything tonight. I dont think Russ is UK ready (he is a good ball player, and I heard he had already verbally committed to Georgetown), but with some work over the summer, he could be a great ball player next season. And Mr. Ferguson had a very good ball game as well, being the only player who looked like he wasnt stunned when he walked on the floor. Elliott was just too undersized to compete for the full 32 minutes. Jonathan shot well from beyond the arc and it seemed the farther he stepped out, the more he made. He is a very good ball player and I have heard of a big D-1 (Mississippi St.) school looking at him. Good luck to all three and the rest of the players for the rest of the season and into tournament play.

I thought it would be closer than this. Mason, at times, just couldn't miss. Both teams played hard and deserve applause for a game well played.

 

That happens when you don't guard people...Ethan Faulkner was the 2nd best player on the floor. A real treat to watch.

Elliott to draw an analogy is like the country of Israel. Both are very small and regarded by many as insignificant. But, they both get a lot of type and comments from everyone. Just remember Vandy beat UK by 41 the other night and what happened in the first game. Not saying Elliott would beat Mason in a re-match, but basketball is a strange game to figure out and Rupp Arena is a not the Mason Fieldhouse. It is a neutral court. One that Elliott is familiar with from 2 games last year and Mason isn't familiar with from last year. May not be a blow out if they hook up again. But, will just have to wait and see what happens in the next 3 weeks or so.

The only team that has a shot at beating them, IMO, is Montgomery County @ Mont. Co.

 

Mason can have an average night and still beat a team by 10+ points.

Mason County will not look past anyone but they should and will win the 10th and represent the 10th in Rupp

WIREMAN IS RIGHT--They is no guarantee that they both won't be in Rupp. Again, upsets are the norm these days and you can't go off just one game. If they had played twice and Mason blew them away both times then I would say the 3d blowout is more probable. Again, just ask UK about Vandy??

You dont think Ferguson would be able to play major D-1 ball? He has been playing this well all season and really showed up tonight in a big-time game. Some were claiming Elliott had 5 D-1 players earlier in the season but it is now obvious they dont.

I don't think there are any guarentees in life are there. I seriously doubt anyone from either school is taking that for granted. After Mason's loss to Clark Co. last year and Elliott's loss to Rose Hill in the all A, I would say the people talking about a re-match in Rupp are not connected to either team. Of course this is just 1 brothers opinion.
