I seriously doubt this is true. Ethan is from Bracken Co. and I talked with him after the game. If you know this kid, he lives to play ball. He's probably the most under rated kid on the team. Kind of under the shadow of the other 3 but he definitely plays an essential role.

I don't think if this game was at Elliott County that the same amount of fans would have attended from Mason County like the folks from Sandy Hook did. Very,very impressive showing on their behalf. Have never been to a regular season game at the Fieldhouse where the opponents fans filled the bottom half and most of the upper half before the JV game. Does Mason County have a band anymore? There is no atmosphere whatsoever in that gym when there is no band and they haven't been at any of the 3 games that I have attended this season. The young Knipp is a player and whether Mason fans admit it, most of Ferguson's points were on Miller,especially in the 4th quarter. Darius had a hand in his face. Lots of people say Mason is very beatable without Miller or Setty, but as Middleton goes so goes this team. Still say if he hadn't gotten injured in that state tourney game Mason may have went to the finals and he was a freshman on that team.

 

 

Untrue. Not taking anything away from Ferguson, but he scored 8-10 points (two threes, two free throws, and either one or two jumpers) in the final 4:00 after all of Mason's starters were out for good. Of his other 20 or so then, probably 12-15 were scored on Miller.

 

Like I said, nothing against Ferguson, he looked like a very good player. Here's a question for fans that have seen Elliott play more often this year than the one time I have: has anyone equal to or with more length than Miller guarded Ferguson this season?

Changed schools when he was little. One of 4 kids who have gone to 3 different schools, Augusta, Bracken and Mason. Don't really know the reason. Very nice family by the way. Whatever the reason, it's good to see him being successful.

Spread those top Louisville and Lexington teams all over the state in different regions and you could have an ALL Louisville and Lexington Sweet 16 field.

Take all the good teams from the Lex and Louisville area plus a few others lile Mason Co and you could see some good close games all through the state tournament. About 6 teams that reach the state tournament are very weak and makes for a bad first round. :thumb:

Maybe they should change the name to the sweet 10 and the sour 6 ? Or are you suggesting Kentucky go to 1A- 2A -3A-4A ?:jump:

While comparative scores are often misleading, until Elliott steps out of the 16th to play some teams; that's about all we've got to go on. To support 3311's statement here's how Mason has fared vs. the 10th this year:

 

Campbell County--Win by 17 @ Mason

Montgomery County--2 wins by 14 @ Mason, and 6 @ Montgomery

Brossart--Win by 25 @ Mason

Clark County--Win by 17 @ Mason

Pendleton--Win by 44 @ Mason

Scott--Win by 40 @ Mason

 

The Scott and Brossart losses were earlier in the season vs. two teams replacing their entire lineups, both of which are playing much better now with some experience. Pendleton is in a total rebuilding mode, and the other losses were far more competitive than Elliott's loss and at the Fieldhouse??

 

It just seems that the few major tests that Elliott has had this year (CovCath, Mason, "A" regional) they've failed?? They've got a nice club, but not deserving of a high state ranking; or being comprized of multiple "high D-I players" at this point?? I still think they win the 16th, unless Rose Hill gets them again?

Its not like it was a 10 point game, it was an absolute, "We're a lot better than you", blowout...

A team with some size and good defense will beat Elliot 9 out of 10 times.

There's only one out there with the size, quickness.and skills (TALENT)that CAN play for Ky and he's going to have work harder than he's ever worked before to play there. I agree,there's other nice players out there that will play some where else in college but not at Ky. I wonder if anyone on here have seen any of Georgetown College games , if not you should see one ,It takes a lot of talent to play there and a lot of toughness. That's the size school I see a few these other kids are fitted for. I've seen a lot of good three point shooters this year that won't play any college ball anywhere because that's all they can do and are lacking in other skills . You could see a big change in Mason Co' play everytime Miller left the game. I think Middleton made a very wise choice going to Georgetown and that it would be great to play there. I love that small school atmosphere. Sometimes as parents and fans we get in our heads that players are better than they actually are. Ferguson is a great shooter .:ylsuper:

 

Wonder if it's just in the Dozen's of "Division One" coach's head's that are contacting(some heavy duty,constant) some of the above mentioned player's

Great shooter!! You would think that any coach would need a few of those. Same as

he needs some great defender's, great rebounder's, great point guard's etc.

You dont think Ferguson would be able to play major D-1 ball? He has been playing this well all season and really showed up tonight in a big-time game. Some were claiming Elliott had 5 D-1 players earlier in the season but it is now obvious they dont.

 

Nope. One dimensional...shoot, shoot, shoot. Too small to play the 2 and doesn't handle well enough to play the point @ a high level.

His ballhandling skills looked fine to me. I saw on an internet site where he averages 1 TO per game, so they are not to bad. In the few time's I have watched him not sure I have saw him shoot better than 6-13 from three. That is smokin'.

 

Hard to turn it over when you shoot it ever time. He had 1/2 his team's shots, almost.
