NCC 47 Holmes 46

Wait no longer! Winning one big game a month and losing 4 games you should have won, does not make you a good coach. It shows that with consistant coaching they should compete and win more.

Not get beat by Newport by 20.

The new offense is working but shows he has no clue what game plan he had going into the season.

All said great win for the school and players. They are great players and there dads should be proud sitting next to them.

Ouch!

Congrats to NCC, coaches and fans! You've done what no other 9th Region team has yet to do...take the Dawg's to the doghouse! Hope HHS was there with plenty of scouts, as the NCC coaches were when Holmes played HHS. The districts are the only meaningful games left!

And then like a good coach does came back a week later and beat them.

Agree?

Ouch!
Doesn't hurt at all. I've ask reddevil many times to give me a player who should be playing over Meyer and Pangallo and he's never done so. This proves he just has sour grapes and makes him look like he is just holding a grudge for his son getting cut or not getting to play.

He has no facts just unwarranted opinions.

I saw coach Schlarman in the stands.....:thumb::thumb:

I've answered your question. The freshman coach and JV coach's did not develope any players so that there sons got there position handed to them. It was easy to see when there teams were put together. They were waiting for ther 8th graders sons to move to JV and varsity when they got there.

That is your answer. I have given this to you before. My son was not a guard.

You are correct about sour grapes. The coach's know why they are there. They made there comments now I will make mine. When a player blows out his shoulder twice on the coach's floor and the coach never bothered to ask how are you, anything we can do, good to see ya back at school, how was your surgeries. That will tell you what type of person he is. A private school education should have better people representing them then him.

The parr kid should have been the point quard when they were freshman (best player on that team). They did not play him. He would be the point guard now. 6-3 great athelete, smart and cut for the coach's kids and fundraising parents kids who start. Favoritism and nepotism at its finest.

Now you now the rest of the story.

You're right. NCC wins some and they lose some, but they are extremely clever at taking other teams out of their game. Usually when they lose it's not by much and even to decent teams. They know their strengths and weaknesses and that they're not going to run with everybody, so they smartly know how to slow the ball down. They probably scored somewhere near their average but the Bulldogs were nowhere near theirs. That says a lot. If the final score was 47-46 Holmes, I'd still have a tendency to think that NCC won just because of that. Highlands could've done the same thing I believe but they chose to run with Holmes and did a mighty fine job of doing so. I don't think Willie was losing anything by giving his guys a tough workout to build their stamina, but I don't see them playing the same game if they meet again. I'm sure he has many options in his arsenal of plans that he can come up with besides wearing the heck out of everybody. Tourney time I think he'll be wanting to save some of their energy and win with a slower approach. I would be more surprised by NCC beating Highlands than NCC beating Holmes.

Parr is a Jr. and Pagallo is a Sophomore. Besides that he has been hurt his entire career @ NCC besides Freshman Football. This is not a good argument.

He's never had a good argument. It's sour grapes and he's reaching for anything.

New. Cath. played Cov. Cath very strong last Friday in Park Hills. The Colonels were lucky to come away with a win. And now a huge W against the Bulldogs. The Breds seems to be peaking at just the right time. I make no claim to being a basketball expert-just a fan- but from what I saw, New. Cath. is very well coached. I liked how the team played on the court and the manner in which they conducted themselves off the court.

Don't be overconfident turbo, as you can see what it can do. I too root for Holmes as I have a cousin who coaches there, but give the other team a little more credit. Holmes is still the #1 team, but as all teams do, they just had an off nght tonight and got beat.

It's better now than later. One thing's for sure, I don't see them losing another game in nky. This game will fire the players up as now they will have to hear about how good they really aren't and that they're overrated. Henley will get his young men back in the right state of mind and geared up for districts, region, AND state.

Good time to be brought down to earth. Better now than later.

1. NCC is slow.

2. Holmes is #1

3. High school boys are unpredictable.

4. The 9th is going to be fun to watch Holmes dominate!!! :thumb:

Nothing like a sore loser. If NCC is slow, and I guarantee they are not as athletic as Holmes, how bad does that make your team look. Win with class, lose with class.

If I'm Boone County I'm taking some notes on what NCC's approach to this game was. Sure, they're not carbon copy teams of each other, but they both have a big man, nice guard play, and pretty decent 3-ball shooting. NCC obviously entered the game with a good offensive/defensive plan, Boone obviously did not. If they are to meet again in the Regionals, the Rebels have got to have a different approach or they'll end up with the same 'blow out' results. Remember, NCC did it also with not that big of a bench against the biggest bench in the 9th. Good job Breds! :thumb:

Let's be fair, going into the game Boone was ranked #2 and NewCath #8. 15-18 year-olds are 15-18 year olds. They read the papers, they see the rankings. I believe that Holmes overlooked NewCath a little, NewCath came out ready to knock Holmes off, played very hard and did just that. If Holmes learns from this, great. I think that this does wonders for NewCath's confidence after it's rough patch around the All A.

Nice win for the Breds.

Eating Pizza rolls, Dawgs will go to state NCC will not make it out of districts.

My friend, with posts like this:

I have not seen NCC play, but by reading threads and news storys. Personnally don't think the Bulldogs will have much problems. Dawgs by 15+ !!!

Certainly there must be some crow on the menu?
