Over the past month, UK sure had been playing well and Billy G had shown the possible potential of his system.

Just wondering what the Vandy loss did to the faith that had been built in the past month.

I really don't know. He seemed to be a master motivator (i.e. Crawford and Bradley's progression and the obvious turnaround from earlier in the season) but now I don't know. I think Bobby Knight could have just screamed at UK or "the name of which we shall not speak for fear of taking the thread COMPLETELY off topic" could just stare at them, and they would have given a better effort. That game was hard to watch.

I guess I am really spolied because the only coaches I have ever remembered at UK were Pitino and "the name of which we shall not speak for fear of taking the thread COMPLETELY off topic". They were both great coaches who won a national championship. Now we have a good coach but who knows if he can keep up with the success of the earlier coaches.

I will support Billy G the entire time that he is here at UK and I wish him the best. I am not questioning his recruiting because we know how great it is, his track record speaks for itself. I fully believe that he deserves 2 more seasons to get to an Elite 8 or he is done. I give him 4 more seasons for a final four.

I know those expectations are a little off-the-wall but we are off-the-wall fans that can't settle with "Tubby-numbers" so it is Final-Four/National Championship every 4-5 years or out the door. .......... I just mentioned the former coaches name, now this thread is going to go crazy. :D

Nope. Bad night if it continues Saturday I'll be concerened.

It requires time...

Nobody is concerned...

I'm not concerned. I still have faith in him and will continue to do so. He is still working with kids that he's trying to mold to fit his system. Once he gets his recruits it'll be better. Also I really don't know what happened to the Cats on Tuesday to let this happen. They just flat out couldn't score. One of two things will come of this, they will be more intense for the rest of the year and dominate, or they will give up after that loss and miss the NCAA tournament. But most importantly it was just one game and still have a lot of time to get back on track!

I am hoping that this was just one of those games where everything went wrong and it became a snow-ball affect!

I question some of his moves and antics that is for certain, but I am becoming more and more a fan of Coach BCG!

What? Kentucky fans, fickle? Say it ain't so.

Seriously, we need to take a more long-term approach. This season is going to end up about the way it was expected and I feel it is unfair to judge every single game and every play. Wait and look at the season as a whole and draw your conclusions. Better yet, wait until next season and judge the improvement, and then draw your conclusions.

Like the guy who agonizes over his stock prices every single day, UK fans seem to judge their fortunes' rise and fall as often as the moon changes phases, and that is why they are never truely happy.

I voted to give him time with his recruits that is the least I can do.

I picked options 1, 3, and 4. I feel like those best describe the way I feel in total. I feel much the same way I felt back in December in that the way they lost the ballgame has me doubting, and that overall I just feel like I don't know what to think about the way they will procede in the future.

I know I probably wasn't supposed to pick 3 different choices, but the option was open, and those three put together best describe the way I feel right now.

Nobody is concerned...

And the garbage continues 2...

The Vandy game doesn't completely erase the progress that this team has made but it has the potential to. It will be interesting to see how this team responds to a beating like that. There are still plenty of chances to make something of this season, but IMO the 41 point loss will be the dagger that sends this team to the NIT.

I'm sure everyone else noticed this also, but along with us playing terrible at both ends of the floor, Vandy couldn't miss. As well as Vandy shot the ball I think we could have played our "best" game and still probably not have won. If we even played a "good" game we still might have lost by 15. They say Vandy shoots the rock well at home and they proved it Tuesday night.

Yes, I'm concerned about Gilispie, and the last game was just pitiful.

Practicing a group so hard until they hardly have the strength to stand up on a regular basis is not IMO good coaching. Yes, you have to be in shape, but you can take it too far and that is only a part of it.

Why has Gillispie still not signed a contract? His alleged drinking and social problems are also a concern. The Big Blue faithful won't tolerate many games like the last one. "The Tub" has Minnesota rolling pretty well for his first year.
