stick1 Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I said a few months back not to be suprised if Jerry Jones doesn't go after McFadden. The rumour is out there now that they are shopping Marion+3rd for McFadden if they can get him from Miami I think it was. Would you do it? I am a HUGE Barber fan but his durability with the way he plays could be a question. McFadden laid an egg vs Mizzo but he has freak like potential ala A. Peterson. The Cowboys are going to have to pay Barber so they have a decision to make. I'm not a big Jones fan but love Barber. This whole thing might not happen but it is interesting.
newarkcatholicfan Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 As a huge Cowboys fan I say no. Jones (rb) will not be brought back and going into a season without a exp. rb would be a mistake. I.M.O.
John Anthony Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I see the Cowboys making a strong push for him.

I would tend to agree, but like was mentioned earlier, McFadden is pretty close to being as good as A. Peterson, and he wasn't an experience RB, but he still put up some HUUUUUUGE numbers.
mountainboy Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 This sounds like a good deal to me. I would rather see Jones go than Barber, because I am a Barber and Cowboys fan, but that deal probably wouldn't go. McFadden seems to be the real deal, and youth at RB is usually not a bad thing.
5wide Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I think that would be a good trade for Miami. Not a good move by Dallas, IMO. If I was Miami I'd ask for Barber and a 2nd rounder for the #1 pick before I accepted less.

born2reign Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 This would not be enough for the number one pick to get Miami to budge, IMO. The ESPN rumors have said that Dallas is willing to offer both of their No. 1 picks and Barber for the No. 1 overall pick. This is more of what it will take to get that pick from Parcells and company, IMO.
Run To State Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 IMO Dallas would be foolish to get rid of Barber.
stick1 Posted February 10, 2008 Author Posted February 10, 2008 I think it was swapping #1's Barber and a 3rd.

Maybe I am remembering this wrong, but didn't McFadden still end up with over 100 yards rushing against Mizzo?
born2reign Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I think it was swapping #1's Barber and a 3rd. This deal, I think, Miami would jump at. To get two extra draft picks (picking up both of Dallas' No. 1's and get an extra third) and Barber would help Miami rebuild. This seems like a lot for Dallas to give up for Run DMC. They may be able to work a deal with a team later (like Atlanta) and give up less and still get him.
Uk4Life Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Why would Miami want Barber considering they have Ronnie Brown?
born2reign Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 ^They would have a good one-two punch to build the offense around and take the burden off of their young QB. Plus the extra draft picks would help the team to rebuild the other parts of their team.
bellalumni40 Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Don't forget Miami has Ricky Williams also and I believe Sammy Morris did very well for them this past year after Brown went out. Given, Barber has been the most successful out of all of these players, but the cupboard is not bare for RB's in Miami.
