February 11, 200818 yr Author Brown was also lost for the season so who knows how bad that injury might have been. He is a stud but that would take some mileage off of him. Most teams are going to a 1-2 punch at RB. Look at the Giants run. Jacobs wears people down and Bradshaw is a homerun hitter. Barber brings an attitude that I would think teammates have to love. He brings a serious physical presence to an offense. That's not even talking draft picks. If I were the Cowboys I would get rid of Jones, keep Barber and draft Felix or somebody like the kid from Oregon. I'd rather have Barber and all my draft picks then McFadden and nothing left over. McFadden looks to be a STUD but he hasn't played a down in the NFL. He also has a lot of mileage on him coming out of college.
February 11, 200818 yr I'm a lifelong Dolphin fan and would jump at this kind of deal. It's a no-brainer. With Barber in the fold and Ronnie coming back you could perhaps deal off the others and still build in more places than a traditional draft. You could even use the Dallas #1 pick to find a good QB to bring in. Win all the way for Miami if Jerry Jones will just do it.
February 11, 200818 yr Most importantly to me, there just isn't a guy in this draft that everyone has to have, but there is good depth...if Miami can get that kind of value for the #1, they'd be crazy to pass, IMO. They can still get very good players that address needs with lower picks...and they're in a rebuilding mode. A move like this could really speed up the process. It's not a stretch to think the Dolphins could end up with a better player anyway...there are no sure things in this draft. Nobody knows if the Long boys will be great...they probably will, but are they can't miss? Dorsey has been injury prone in college... I just think this would be a great move for Miami and a stupid one for Dallas. So, I'd be surprised if it doesn't happen, knowing who's running both shows.

February 11, 200818 yr This would be a very bad trade for the Dolphins. They need defense. Not Marion Barber. They have a plentiful supply of backs when healthy.

That would be a better move for Dallas, athough I think Turner and Barber are both inside runners. I know Turner had the nickname "Burner", but he has been the inside change of pace to Tomlinson's do everything ability in San Diego. They can use the two picks to sure up depth in the defensive secondary and the o-line.
February 11, 200818 yr Don't forget Miami has Ricky Williams also and I believe Sammy Morris did very well for them this past year after Brown went out. Given, Barber has been the most successful out of all of these players, but the cupboard is not bare for RB's in Miami. Jesse Chatman wasn't bad for the Phins either.
