This is going to take some time...and patience...

Did you mean 3 on 8? The officiating was terrible and it had alot to do with the outcome.

I agree IMO the play where Coach G. got the T, Crawford was hammered to the ground but it was just another block for the MSU dude. If you can get away with fouling in the process alot of players could average double figures in blocked shots.

I dont understand why everyone is praising Bradley from last night. Did you see the last 5 minutes of the game. (When the game matters the most.) In one stretch he had 3 straight turnovers and missed 2 or 3 wide open 3 balls. The only good play he made down the stretch was when he GAVE the ball up to Crawford and he hit that tough 3 at the top of the lane. Sure Bradley plays hard and ended up with 20 points or so, but he KILLED UK down the strech last night.

On the other hand, Joe did play much better and seems to really be getting after it on the defensive end. Starting in the 2nd half when he drew the assignment of chasing Foster around.

Some of you on here are worried about losing these two guys next year. Why? Just because of 2 games where they played with a little effort. I still will be happy when they are gone. Joe is still a step slow, and only plays when he wants. Ramel still is turnover prone, and like last night will still hurt his team at the end of a game. Im not worried one bit they will be leaving.

As others have said, this team is certainly improving though, which is nice to see. And how can you have 10 blocks and 1 foul. Im going to go out on a limb and say that was a first.

You keep getting on Bradley, but seriously what other options do we have out there? I mean we had 3 offensive guys who can score out there on the court at the end, and one of them really couldn't do anything because Patterson just kept getting his shot blocked by that guy. So all we really had was Crawford and Bradley. Its not like we had 4 other really good offensive players out there with him, because if we did then I would agree to get on him for forcing some things. However the shots he took, honestly were probably as good as shots as we were going to have last night with the players we had playing. I mean he had a couple of good open 3 looks, and he just didn't make them plain and simple. I guess you also forget it was Bradley who gave UK a chance to get back in it under a minute as well. He made two free throws, then got a steal and got fouled and made two more free throws, and then as you pointed out he is the one who passed it to Crawford for that three. So yeah normally some of the stuff he would do, might not be that smart. But considering the players we had on the court, a few of the things he did was actually some of our best options. You just got to realize that with Meeks and Jasper out, Bradley and Crawford are going to force things sometime. I mean I think Billy G realizes that, that is why you really dont see him get on them that much for some of those shots. I mean if Billy G would play AJ Steward a little more, we would have a guy who could help on offense a little more because he is athletic and has a decent little jumper. But Billy G wont play him, so when Patterson is getting shut down for most part like last night. We have to deal with Bradley and Crawford trying to do some things....

Also sorry to tell you, but next year is not looking so pretty at all. I mean those two guys we are getting, wont be any better on offense than what we have now, so we might even be worst on offense next year...

This is going to take some time...and patience...

Ha I know. I must say I was pretty suprised to see that for the most part that most people have kept Tubby out of it for a change. So it is a start. :D

Tubby who?

It's tough beating any team playing 3 on 5.....Coury, Porter, Stevenson are useless.

It's painfully obvious that Uk needs a point guard/ball handler and another shooting threat on the floor. (another big man would help as well) If Meeks and Jasper ever get healthy they can win a few tough games, if not they will continue to struggle. The effort is there but the talent is not.

Just a question guys..... What is the UK vs. Miss. St. all time record in head to head competition? What was the record befor OTS, with OTS??? It just seems to me that many years ago, it would just about be a laugher for UK to play Miss St at Miss St. UK used to beat these teams to a pulp..... Times have changed thats for sure. This kid is hoping the Cats can turn it around and make the NCAA tournament. If they can get that far and win a game or two, that would truly be a very good season for this team and coach. Obviously, they would have to overacheive to do that, but that is what UK basketball is all about, overachieving..... Just not seeing it thus far....

He also clobbered Patterson on the body all night but no call, the refs let way too much go last night.

I'm saying 3 times of the 16 blocks recorded were maybe shot fake. These guys got 3's blocked at least 3 times. Trying to shoot over people. UK fans and BCG deserve each other. I find myself rooting against them because of this moron on the bench!

Another insightful post by BB.

My two cents: turnovers, blocked shots and the referee's did not blow the whistle's in the first half. Then all he-- broke out in the second half and the ref's lost control. We have to face it without Meeks and Jasper playing we are going to be hurting in every game. This game was in the grasp and we just could not get it under control down the stretch. JD

Sorry.

Send it to Blue Blazer too.

1996, the height of the Pitino success, maybe the greatest team in UK history loses to Mississippi State in the championship game of the SEC tournament.73 to 84.

I believe you are better taking it strong and right at a shot blocker instead of all of the ball fakes and head fakes...........good shot blockers usually stay on their feet until the shooter leaves his. The only success Patterson had was when he went strong to the goal late in the game, Crawford and Stevenson's 1st half dunks are examples of what I'm talking about.

Is that the only Miss St. victory over the cats prior to OTS? I doubt it, yet I would anticipate that they have won less than 25 games prior to 1996.
