January 16, 200818 yr Varnado picks up his first foul at 1min31sec left in the game that is a joke. Everytime they showed the replays of his blocked shots ( and they showed them several times) you got to see how many times he fouled. By the way I don't believe anyone has mentioned that Bradley scored 20+ points 5 games in a row. This has not been done since Mashburn was at UK. Ramel does makes some stupid mistakes, but what he does good out ways the bad. Good post on both points made. There is no way that a man playing "underneath" has the mount of blocks and rebounds he had with only commiting one personal foul. As for Bradley, I have to agree. I have certainly blasted him before and probably will again in the future but he did have a very good game and has played well in the last few games. I still think that he gets in the "all about me" mind set too much but that is just me.
January 16, 200818 yr Both Dykes and Nessler both screwed up a lot... They'd talk about a foul giving the ball back to Kentucky when obviously the foul was on Kentucky and the ball went to MSU... Things like that irk me. Nessler imo is terrible, there is an invention that has been around for quite a while called the radio and I turn the radio broadcast on a lot of the time depending on who is calling the game on tv.. Of course, most all of us grew up with Cawood Ledford's call on U.K. games. There wasn't any better before or after him and there never will be.
January 16, 200818 yr I think that Billy G has this TEAM turning the corner. I believe that you can see this because of the effort of Crawford and Bradley. They don't have alot of scoring threats, but last night they got after it. I think that is a major plus. The lack of any Juniors is what is really killing Uk this year. I think that this team if it keeps improving has the chance to make some noise still and possibly sneak into the dance. I saw a lot more positive looks from BCG. You would see him wink and say good job. Calmly tell the players to slow down. He got on Courry for arguing with ref. Things I like seeing from a coach. If anyone heard his after game interview after the Vandy game, I think he has this team beat down to the point where he is ready to build them back. HE kept talking about this team is much tougher than he has indicated and they are learning to compete every second of the game. He alomost sounded appolgetic for what he has put them through. I am starting to get excited about where we are going. I just hope BCG can get used to the spotlight and pressure of the UK program.
January 16, 200818 yr It's hard to believe they were even in the game considering they got absolutely nothing from the post. Still hard to guage this team since they haven't been playing with a full deck. Gordon is a fine player, and he seems to punish UK when these two meet. :thumb:

What an up and under move? Both Tubby and Ricky P taught the ball/shoulder opposite spin move, yet to see it this season. And yes this team has gotten better, after losses to Gardener-Webb, and San Diego as Vince Lombardi would say "when you reach rock bottom you can only go up from there." Thank you BCG for taking UK to Rock Bottom!!!!!
January 16, 200818 yr I dont understand why everyone is praising Bradley from last night. Did you see the last 5 minutes of the game. (When the game matters the most.) In one stretch he had 3 straight turnovers and missed 2 or 3 wide open 3 balls. The only good play he made down the stretch was when he GAVE the ball up to Crawford and he hit that tough 3 at the top of the lane. Sure Bradley plays hard and ended up with 20 points or so, but he KILLED UK down the strech last night. On the other hand, Joe did play much better and seems to really be getting after it on the defensive end. Starting in the 2nd half when he drew the assignment of chasing Foster around. Some of you on here are worried about losing these two guys next year. Why? Just because of 2 games where they played with a little effort. I still will be happy when they are gone. Joe is still a step slow, and only plays when he wants. Ramel still is turnover prone, and like last night will still hurt his team at the end of a game. Im not worried one bit they will be leaving. As others have said, this team is certainly improving though, which is nice to see. And how can you have 10 blocks and 1 foul. Im going to go out on a limb and say that was a first.

Thank you BCG for taking UK to Rock Bottom!!!!! First of all Patterson is really not a guy that is going to go down with his back to the basket, hes not a true 5, IMO. Thats not how he played in High school and he is a bit undersized to play like that at the college level. Dont get me wrong PP is a GREAT player, but thats not in his game as of now really. As for the rest of your post.
January 16, 200818 yr Naismath couldn't win with this team minus Jasper and Meeks. I wonder what you'll be posting when "the man" leads Kentucky back to the Final Four? Naismath was an under 500% coach.
January 16, 200818 yr Naismath was an under 500% coach. 500%? Dang... If he was over 100 he was doing pretty good...
January 16, 200818 yr Funny thing I went to bed thinking the same thing last night. I believe we have Miller and Liggins coming in next season and no way do they give us what we lose with Bradley and Crawford. Your right they will be a lot more smart and unselfish.
January 16, 200818 yr 500%? Dang... If he was over 100 he was doing pretty good... Let me reprashe that, under 500% winning percentage.
January 16, 200818 yr Let me reprashe that, under 500% winning percentage. Try again.....I don't think anybody has over a 500% winning percentage.
January 16, 200818 yr A lot of bad calls tonight. Patterson had 2 fouls that would not have been called in a HS game. I couldn't believe it, but in all actuality it worked out well for Kentucky. Bradley & Crawford were the only 2 who decided to play tonight. Mark Coury needs to realize what he is capable of -- or more importantly, what he's not capable of. He's a disaster. I'd love to see Jared Carter get his minutes...or AJ Stewart. It still baffles me how Michael Porter can go from starting one game and not get close enough to even sniff the floor for the next two (or was it 3?). I think Billy G is a little too hard on these guys. I started thinking -- how many times have you seen BCG congratulate a player as he jogs off the court? My count is still at ZERO. I understand what BCG is trying to do, but you've got to be positive, especially during game situations. All in all, I can't complain with the effort we gave tonight. Playing without Jasper & Meeks is tough. Although it's frustrating, I think this team will be fine once we get everyone back in shape and back healthy...or so I hope. I'm about to give up. I'm not complaining though...what I'm giving up on is them ever getting healthy. Injuries have destroyed this season...not that we were going to be a top 15 team, but with a full, healthy roster, this team would have been much better. I think some fans need to remember that when they start criticizing Gillispie for the struggles they're having...and for the players he's playing. Take Meeks and Jasper out of the equation, and who do you play? You've got PP, Bradley and Crawford...after that, who do you play? You can't play your starting lineup for 40 minutes...he's being forced to play guys like Coury, Porter, Stevenson, etc., more than he would like. I just don't get these "why is (fill in the blank) even playing?" comments when there are no other options. I do think UK is improving. They're just shorthanded and its making things really difficult for them, IMO.

Thank you BCG for taking UK to Rock Bottom!!!!! Dude, what is your deal with BCG... Did you even watch any of the game last night, UK was using the shot fake. Numerous times I saw players shot fake but Varando was quick enough off his feet to go back up and alter the shot. One time I know Patterson shot faked him to get him in the air only to go up and try to draw a foul but instead Varando still blocked him. I can handle your opinion on Gillispie but atleast try to back it up with something that happened in the game.
