Can someone please fill me in on this? From what I understand, Coach Franklin comes in and installs his offense for a very stiff fee. Then if you want him to call the plays its more money. Am I correct? If I am, how can a coach convince and make his players believe in him, if he has to employ someone else to run the offense? I think a couple of years ago a team did it just for the state championship. If thats the case, what a spit in the face of everyone that got them to the 'ship. I may totally off when it comes to this post, hopefully I am. But any insight is appreciated!

I can't speak of what other teams do or did. But, Raceland did pay for Tony Franklin to teach them his offense. They were provided with a coaches clinic held by Tony Franklin, to familiarize them with his offense. They were also provided with videos, playbooks and other literature about the offense. Tony Franklin also came to Raceland and worked with the Raceland players in either spring practice or in the early part of the preseason, I believe. I am pretty sure that is all that Raceland received when they purchased the package from Tony Franklin.

Not to bash, but I will take Cove's offense over anyone's in the nation. It has never ceased to amaze me, and we get him as an awesome teacher to boot.

I totally agree. It's the best offensive system Ive seen in the state of Kentucky anyway.

That's exactly what it is, with more zone read running plays.

The Hal Mumme/Texas Tech/Valdosta State/ Franklin system

are all pretty much the same. Tony Franklin and Mike Leach both coached under Mumme at the University of Kentucky. I know every spread team runs something from the Franklin System. Williamsburg uses several things from the Franklin System, and add it to more of a run n shoot offense.

What happened to their game against Harrison County in the district championship?

 

Seems they lost 30-6. I believe. FC played awful, HC played great, FC had two of best players out with injury. Bottom line HC whipped FC in all parts of the game.

Tony is the OC at Auburn now he doesn't come to your school anymore.

I believe Lex Cath was running it when Sphire won it all. Others running his offense have made the finals but came up short. This offense goes back much further than Mumme, it's really BYU based and Mumme changed a few things.

Lex Cath used some elements as they still did this year, but did not run the true system, if thats what you want to call it. If I had to pick a team that has run the true system the best it would be Owensboro Catholic.

Etown did a really good job running the system back in 2002-2004. They made it to the State finals in 03 but did not win. I think they are running it again now that Todd is the HC there. Central Hardin is also running it with Mike Lawson, they looked good at times this year and will be much better next season. It's a fun offense to watch when it's clicking.

I've heard it described (and appropriately so) as "multiple". Meaning multiple formations and mixing multiple systems, including west coast, spread, pro, etc.
