That's a tough situation though. Say you foul then suddenly the guy throws up a shot from behind the arc. You could possibly put the guy on the line for 3 free throws too. I know I'd just rather play the defense.

Tough loss and it sounds like some bad breaks for Highlands but like Malachicrunch said, HC's best player was out the whole game. You play w/ who ya got.

Would've loved to see this game with a healthy McGraw and Simpson and the two missing kids from HC. I was impressed that at one point in time HHS had 4 sophomore's and a senior of the floor and kept the lead.

Your right, about the strategy either way can back fire. I would have fouled early at half court. At home though I'd feel better about a kid not hitting 3 straight FTs if your scenario did happen. Anyway looks like the Birds just got younger. Simons sure would look good in a jersey right now.

I heard that Simpson probably broke his shooting hand....Not good.. He was in alot of pain when the trainer was looking at him...:cry::cry::cry:

Oh and once again 9th region refs continue to amaze me with their ineptness and basic non knowlege of the game. 2 guys tonight were pitiful.

With Victor Moses and Aaron Boyd out for Henry Clay and they still defeat Highlands, this does not bode well for the homestanding BlueBirds.

Henry Clay's talent without their two tallest, best players is not good enough to win on the road against even a team not at full strength.

If this would have put the opponent in the bonus, why in the world would you commit a foul so that they can tie it at the free throw line? The armchair coaches in Ft. Thomas need to sit in the stands and enjoy the game rather than trying to continually second guess the coach. It has been why don't they run, why do they slow it down, why do sophomores play, why do juniors not play and now why don't you up two and the opponent in the bonus. The last I checked, Mr. Schlarman has been quite successful and certainly does not need to be second guessed.
