December 30, 200718 yr Author So far I have the positives as Patrick Patterson, Miller, and Liggins. I can't say discipline because we don't know for sure if it's making a difference in a positive way.
December 30, 200718 yr I would assume that his patronage at some of the local watering holes has helped business.
December 30, 200718 yr The only positive I can find is that all of our post counts have rapidly increased over the past month or so.

The one thing that I think that discipline has done thusfar this season is to have Legion leave the school. He was soft and couldnt take it. I liked the way he played though but its BCG's way or the highway.....
December 30, 200718 yr A friend of mine has watched several practices and he said that BCG is constantly blasting every player on the team for the entire practice. He said that it is more hardcore than Bobby Knight. I've heard the same thing. He makes them run the stairs if they just ask something about how to run a play. He supposely told Porter, after Porter smiled after what he must have thought was a light remark from Billy Clyde that "What do you think is so funny? The only thing I think is funny is that UK gave you a schlorship."
December 30, 200718 yr Author Wireman-So in practice does he get in there faces and challenge them? Do any of the players talk back or do they take it? Does he curse alot in practice?

December 30, 200718 yr Tubby wouldn't have over two losses right now, even with these players. JMO. Maybe he's got something up his sleeve that we don't know about. He may be holding back for the SEC. But as of right now I don't see UK winning too many games the rest of the season....and no post season.
December 30, 200718 yr I am a U.K. basketball fan and I supported the hire of BCG when it was announced. I did not want to see Tubby go but since he is that is that. I support our coach now and will. Having said that as far as positives so far...Patterson's signing (Maybe), BCG signed him but Tubby imo already had him convinced/sold on U.K.. As for other positives, there aren't very many if any. Time will tell if BCG was a good choice or not. As a fan I have to back him. I do hope that some of the rumors flying around on him are not true, if they are then he is short timer at U.K....and should be. I don't get into the rumor mill though so enough said about that. I do know that this years U./K. team is THE WORST that I have ever seen at U.K.. Bar none. All we can do imo is stay behind them and stay behind BCG.

December 30, 200718 yr The #1 thing that has come out of the Billy G era, and whether it would have happened w/o him or not is debatable yet not the point, is the signing of Patrick Patterson. It happened while he was coach therefore it happened in his era and daggumit he is the one things that has really made me actually enjoy anything whatsoever about this season because frankly I think this kid has become my favorite UK player in a good long while because of his lunch pail attitude where he comes to work, does his job, tries his hardest, and just competes.
December 30, 200718 yr :thumb: I agree, Tubby may also have ahad Jai Lucas in U.K. blue as well. Don't know. And he may not have gotten PP. It's all speculation. What is not speculation - is what he left us with talent wise. P

This is a rarity but, Professor - I have to disagree with you there. While I could buy that Tubby may have had a better record at this point saying he wouldn't have had over two losses is a bit of a stretch. UNC and Indiana were the two you were referring to, I am assuming? So theres two already. Now if UK had beaten Gardner Webb with Tubby coaching to think they would have gotten out of NYC without one loss (or likely two) is obsurd. I think Memphis's team this year could give our 96 team a good game. So now we are up to between 3-4 losses. The Houston game is another loss I think. If all things are the same...Patterson out, Meeks being well under game shape and Houston playing as hot as they did with the crowd as pumped as they were - we lose that game with Smith at the helm as well. I think its fairly easy to assume that Tubby could have had atleast 5 losses at this point. I do think he would have held off the come back by UAB and beaten San Diego.
