December 30, 200718 yr People including me have been pretty upset by how things are going at UK. We have all harped on the negative things that have happened this season. There are people that take up for Gillispie, therefore I wanted to know what positives they have seen to make them feel this way. #1 He got Patrick Patterson. Thats all I can think of right now, anyone else? I'm not sure you can say discipline because we don't know, all we know is he benches players for being late, falling a sleep, or not practicing hard. So far it ain't workin.

So far it ain't workin. So do you think that he should just ignore players being late, falling asleep, or not practicing hard? Come on... BCG has brought discipline to a team that needed discipline for many years. Did anyone think that we were going to the final four this year? Relax....
December 30, 200718 yr Did anyone think that we were going to the final four this year? Outside of Wireman??? :fire:
December 30, 200718 yr Billy Clyde is going to have to show me more than just bringing discipline to the program. As of right now I'm not very impressed with him.
December 30, 200718 yr Author I'm not saying ignore it. I'm saying it isn't working. I'm not sure what you do. But right now its not working. I don't have a plan I just have questions and observations. Answer my quetion. What positives have you seen to make you relax?
December 30, 200718 yr DeAndre Liggins and Darrius Miller Do expand a slight bit on happy's comment - and I just posted this in another thread. JP Blevins, while a guest on Drew Deener's call in show had this to say (and I am paraphrasing) on BCG's hard style...."It's easy for a coach to start hard and then gradually back off later on his career - but its impossible for a Coach to start soft and then get tough later on his career." Basically, he has got to set the foundation.

December 30, 200718 yr I have a sneaky suspicion that BCG might need a little discipline himself. If I am correct about my assumption, then how does he expect his own players to respect him.
December 30, 200718 yr Outside of Wireman??? :fire: I didn't think Final Four, but I certainly thought the talent was there to win 20 games and at least compete.
December 30, 200718 yr Author JP Blevins does have the right idea. It's very true it makes players fearful of you. I would love to watch practice and see what goes on in it. My wife made the obsevation that the equipment manager yells more than Billy. I didn't see him do much today except bend down alot. I think he called play 5 a couple times. Besides that he isn't very active on the side line.

He said that it is more hardcore than Bobby Knight.
