Courier Journal is reporting that Padget is cleared to practice and may play as soon as Jan.10, 2008. Things are starting to look up for Cardinals.

I hope he can return soon. He was the only thing I liked about the entire city of Louisville.

I heard that on the news tonight and great news for Louisville. He is a class act and had alot of injuries and deserves to be able to finish his senior year as a Card.

Go Cards!!!!!!

Wasn't this a season and possibly career ending injury?

I like Padget. He's a good ball player.

Will Padget be back at 100% if he returns? Or will it be one of those "last rodeo" kind of things? Although, I do see Padgett playing some form of Professional basketball if that is what he chooses.

Pitino is feeling the heat. Padgett's knee means a little more to Rick than Derek Anderson's did.

Good for Padgett, hate to see a kid endure as many injuries as he has had to endure.

Another reason to write every quote in pencil, as Boston columnist Bob Ryan once said of RP...

David Padgett's career is "probably" over...which in Pitino speak means a few weeks.

Calling an impromptu press conference to declare that Derrick Caracter has been suspended "indefintely" which in Pitino speak means one game.

Tremendous coach and definite "drama queen".

That broken knee cap he had healed up fast, sounds like a tough guy being able to come back from all his injuries, I look forward to seeing him back on the court, he definitely makes UofL a better team. If he can come back to a full 100% and play good I can see him becoming a decent pro prospect.

I hope he can return and finish the year on a positive note. He will be a welcome addition to the team. Go Cards!

Perhaps even sooner, according to this article.

Louisville received even more good news after the game. Center David Padgett, who fractured his kneecap on Nov. 18, could return on Tuesday when Louisville opens Big East play against Cincinnati. Padgett suited up for the first time since the injury against the Gaels, but spent the game on the sideline shouting encouragement to his teammates.

Boo!!!

Something else the article noticed that I picked up on during the game was the long scoreless droughts. Louisville held Iona scoreless for stretches of four and eight minutes in the first half, as well as the final 1:42 of the half. In the second, it was five, four and four minutes in the second. Championship-caliber defense if they can recreate it against the Pitts and Georgetowns of the world.

Gotta find a way to get Earl Clark some better shots within the offense, and Sosa needs to get his act together or he'll see a lot more second halfs from the courtside seats, like he did today.

Rick said today he is 50/50 to play against UC, if he doesn't go then, he'd likely play against UK.
