Worst Gift you have ever received for Christmas?

Featured Replies

I'm 8 years old, and I wanted another G.I. Joe. Badly.

My dad said that he was going to give me a Barbie instead.

I see the wrapped present (in the shape of a G.I. Joe box) and I can't wait to open it. :jump:

My dad again says that it's a Barbie; and I'm like, "yeah, right."

I start tearing at the paper, and am HORRIFIED  to see a picture of Barbie on the box.

I throw down the box and run into my bedroom. I never even opened the package.

As it turned out, my dad had put G.I. Joe in a Barbie box...:irked:

And THAT, dear readers, is why I am the way I am....(that, plus the fact that my dad never let me have a BB gun....)

You would have shot your EYE OUT. Thank your parents for saving your good vision.:D

. (It's why we now do the gift trade [white buffalo?] thing now instead of drawing names.)

elephant. ;)

My mother used to always get a gag gift for her father for Christmas, which would have something to do with his real gift.(such as a bag of leaves under the tree to go with his new wheelbarrow.) One year, she bought him a snake light. As the gag gift, she took a rubber snake and taped a light bulb to it's tail. When he unwrapped it, my Grandmother busted out laughing, to the point that tears were rolling down her face. Granny finally told us that the "snake light" reminded her of the light they used on her for her recent colonoscopy. She was wondering why we gave that to papaw.

What did she want with a sausage log?

I guess either for a church function or her own family

Several , several years ago I received a Heavy Christmas sweater that was not my type and it was much to small.

Mother in law got me a gas grill guage that checks the amount of propane in your tank. I guess due to me not having any in it when she came over for a summer cookout. It actually was practical but made me realize, she doesnt miss a thing.

My Uncle is famous in our family for his crazy gifts, he gave my brother(when he was about 13) a generic version of the Rubik's cube called the Boob Cube, which if done right made pictures of naked women, needless to say my mother wasn't real happy with her brother-in-law. He also got me a box of red shoe strings, he got at an auction, I still haven't figured out why?

I am still trying to think of a terrible gift I received.

The funniest I can remember is my Aunt's gift to her boyfriend. To make a long story short, the boyfriend enjoys fishing, hunting, etc. Well, for a Christmas gift, she gave him a depth finder for his boat. That is all well and good, but the problem is, he does not even have a boat. I will never forget, we were all laughing and the boyfriend said, "Am I supposed to use this in the bathtub?"

A silk shirt when silk shirts were out of style. He was a multicolored one. On the front it had purple, orange, and a green that I can't describe and the back was black.

One year Granny got my brother and I a Duke and a North Carolina t-shirt. There probably isnt two teams we hate more than Duke and UNC.

I am still trying to think of a terrible gift I received.

That one has won the prize in this thread imo.

Well, on second thought, it's a tie with the wet sponge wrapped in a paper towel gift.:D

One year I received 5 or 6 bottles of cheap cologne and aftershave from different people in my family. They swore that they weren't in it together, so it makes me wonder if they were giving me a hint............

My aunt one year gave me a Ohio State sweatshirt! She is from Columbus!
