Worst Gift you have ever received for Christmas?

Featured Replies

This didnt happen to me, but my sister in law received a used can of fix a flat one year from her grandma.

The can was silver (label had been ripped off) and written in black marker was the words:

FIX A FLAT $1.00

Sad thing... When she finally got a flat, she tried using it, and it didnt even work!

Most people wont believe that story, but I am telling you its the God honest truth!

My older brother got a plastic toy helicopter from my grandmother one year. He was 16.

Hmmm.......When I was younger I think some of my extended family got my brother and me some movie but it was for both of us..I was like what a rip off!

I think those same people also got me a poncho one year! I was like what in the world. It's the middle of winter (back in the 90's when it actually snowed during christmas) and why would I need a stupid poncho!

My dad's sister-in-law used to be very bad at buying gifts. And they took their Catholicness very seriously, having four children. Invariably, the law of averages takes over and Aunt Jean seemed to be responsible for my gift something like six years running. (It's why we now do the gift trade [white buffalo?] thing now instead of drawing names.)

One year it was a Western shirt that would've gone great with a pair of cowboy boots and a stetson/chaps ensemble. Which would've been great had I ever exhibited a predilection toward country line dancing.

The best, however, was this bathrobe with a circa-'70s feel to it that was three sizes too small and would've been great on me with a pair of black socks and a cup of coffee attached, like Donald Sutherland in "Animal House."

A huge sausage log - thankfully a co-worker asked me if she could swap!

knee surgery and leg immobilizer. Apparently it is the gift that keeps on giving.

I didn't get this gift but it's a pretty funny story.

All of my family (Uncles, cousins, aunts...) go to my Grandmas on Christmas eve and we give each other our gifts. My grandma was getting old and honestly, she was starting to lose it. She had a gift for everyone there except my Aunt. She forgot to buy her something. In a panic, she took a sponge she had used an hour earlier to clean her counter tops, wrapped it in some paper towels (still wet) and wrote my aunts name on it.

It was classic.

One year I got a sealed package of smoked sausage and cheese. I still hadn't used it by Christmas a year later when I opened my present and...got smoked sausage and cheese again, from the same person. The third year the trend changed, though, when I recieved a coffee cup with a picture of a golf ball on the side of it.

What did she want with a sausage log?
