I've seen all three play, and all three teams are great. I still say

 

1. Trinity

2. St. X (by a hair)

3. Highlands

 

And I said it before and will say it again, IF Deuce Finch had been healthy and running like he did in the early and mid part of the season, Trinity would not have made it into overtime against X.

How about I say this, all 3 teams had a great season and unless trinity and st.x had played highlands we will never know who the best team in KY was.

I don't think any team in the state could have beat HHS this year.

Based on the fact that you struggled to beat Central....X beat Central 35-7.....and T is better than X.

X trailed cov cath by half time and we all know what happened in that 2nd round

The only real common denominator in all 3 is Lex Cath (Trinity in a scrim and St X and Highlands in reg season). If I had to put these teams in order you would have to have X and T in a dead tie with Highlands barely coming in 3rd. Even though Highlands went undefeated I still dont believe they could beat a X or T team.

Very interesting considering Trinity gave up 28 to BG while Highlands beat BG 28-7.

 

I will take Highlands as #1 in state this year. There has been a few recent years where HHS or CCH was the best team in the state.

 

That was T 1sr game of year Beatty is the best coac as the season progresses.

 

T is the best team this year once again.

Thanks to the wonderful website http://www.highlands-bluebirds.com/, I have determined Highlands' winning percentage since 1968, or the past 40 years.

 

Highlands is 405-101 (80.03%) since 1968 or for those who want the Mike Mitchell year to count (417-89 (82.41%). 14 state titles.

 

Trinity is 453-79 (85.15%) since 1968. 18 state titles.

 

Is their another school that can compete with these two for Kentucky's football powerhouse?

And they should. X and T should be able to play any team in the country every single year and be competitive. Obviously it's a lot tougher for smaller schools to do that on a yearly basis and be competitive. Which is why some will NEVER say a team like HHS or even CovCath is the best in the state unless they beat the 6A state champion. Everyone knows how tough that is to schedule...

 

For the record, anyone that thinks an HHS/T or X game would have a bigger deficit than 14 points, I question your football knowledge...
