Male, I think.......I wish we were around long enough to get into those top rankings, but we are just too new.

I'm so glad I opened this debate (though I'm sure it has been debated many times before). From a neutral standpoint, I would say that since 1968, Trinity has been the better program, though only by a smidge. However, on the larger scale, Highlands has to be the top team. Maybe that isn't fair to Trinity considering the time frame.

 

Also, is there an argument that Trinity has an advantage because they are a private school?

Male is first in KY in total wins, then Highlands and then it is either Mayfield or Danville; can't remeber which.

 

Nationally it is Valdosta HS followed by Massillon Washington. Other schools of note in this general area are Parkersburg HS (WV) and Canton McKinley (6th).

 

I do believe Highlands is 2nd or 3rd on winning percantage nationally (all time).

 

As for who is more dominating, HHS or Trinity. There really is only a hair's difference between the two. Trinity draws from a larger pool of talent, so that isn't a bad thing but just based on numbers they should have more consistent talent. Higlands plays up in competition, but I'm sure if Trinity could play in the GCL (KY schools used to, btw) they would so can't hold that against them. But here is the biggest factor, I went to HHS not Trinity so it's Highlands by a mile!!!

 

In all honesty though, the most impressive run over the past 40 years might go to Beechwood. They have been consistent and dominant drawing from a small pool of players and waffled between Cov Cath and Dixie. To play at that high of a level year in and year out is as impressive a feat as my Birds or the Rocks.

Just playin with people. My respect for Trinity is second to none outside Trinity (and maybe St X). Their run of titles this decade takes me back to Beechwood's in the 1990's.

Who gets Flaget's wins? Was Flaget absorbed by X or T or neither? Just wondering.:confused:
