Belfry forced to punt 7 times.

Congrats to both teams on a great game. I know the two big plays that have been mentioned were key factors to Central's win but if Belfry had pulled it out you could easily point to the Central miscues that set up their offense with short fields. Pretty much a wash in my eyes and Central making just enough plays to take it all the way.

Congrats to Central on their first State Championship! Great Win.

 

 

It seems that most of the people picking Belfry to win big were going by Belfry beating a team that beat Central badly. Ipapi had the best quote in the thread saying that you can't compare scores when two teams have played the same team during the season.

Well fiddle!! Congrats to Central though. I was pulling for my fellow mountain school but Central must be a h.e. double hockey sticks of a team to beat Belfry. Best of luck next year to both programs.

I hope all the remaining favorites in 2A, 4A, 5A and 6A have had a chance to think about the first two championship games - underdog Louisville Central wins while underdog LCA gave a heck of a battle to heavily favored Beechwood. This is what makes high school football so great!

I know everyone knows about how brutal Central's schedule was but the reality of it was the teams that they lost to, have a combined record of 58-8 (pre-state championships) and two are playing in the big school title games (Highlands and X). Central had one heck of a season and now we KNOW that a brutal schedule cand definetely help you out in the long run.

Good going Central. You proved all those doubters wrong. You guys have a quality coach that will bring more championships to your school.

Central was a touchdown from going to the State Championship (lost 21-14 to BG in the semi-state). But the big difference was 1st year head Coach Ty Scroggins. He instill discipline in Central that they never had before.

Congrats Jacket Nation!!!! Congrats Coach Scroggins!!! You guys kept your composure when Belfrey answered back twice in the first half. Belfrey, don't at all hang your heads....you guys were tough as nails. There's no shame in losing to LC, they're tough too. Great game.
