Best player or not spindoc I still think it is funny that the powerhouses Scott Co, Mason Co, LexCath and Trinityare playing D2 and Little ole Rose Hill is Playing D1.

Does anyone else find it humorous that Scott Co, Mason Co, Lexington Catholic and Trinity (Lightning) are all playing D2? And Rose Hill (Northeastern KY Royals)

are playing D1!

 

I totally agree, I've seen all these teams play this year except Scottt Co. I think they all should be in D1.

 

Spindoc, I think the NE KY Royals, have a couple of nice players that are top players in the state. They have a nice big man and Zack Davis, is a load at guard.

I also like Bush, Whetsel and the Gregg kid originally from Pendleton County.

I think that teams like Scott County dont totally understand the difference of D1 and D2, they just look at themselves as a school team (which they are) and believe that all school teams play D2.And that allstar teams play D1.

Agree. Terry is IMO the best in that class. No weakness in his game, from behind the arc all the way to the rack.

The Thunder didn't break a sweat tonight and is 1-0 in the tournament (The Truth called the KBA about 5:45 and said they didn't have enough kids, so they forfeited, but it looks like a 15-point win in the history books. ).

 

Which Blaze team is DJ playing with? I noticed there is one in both D1 and D2.

Any kids playing in the 3-3 tourny over at CovCath?

Georgetown Thunder won its pool in 14U D2 today by beating the Northern KY Huskies 72-55 and Warren County Shooting Stars 71-58. Quin Richardson led a balanced attack, scoring 41 points for the 2 games, including 25 and 6 3's against the Shooting Stars. Against the Huskies, Mustafa Diaw led the way with 19 points, followed by Richardson with 16, Trey Grundy with 9, Dylan Portwood and Landen Young with 8 each and Tyler Page with 7. Besides Richardson's 25 in the second game, Young had 12 while Mason Monroe and Portwood added 11 each. Young missed last weekend's 13U state.

 

The win advances the Thunder to the quarterfinals, where they will likely play The Ville. The two teams met in last year's quarterfinals of the D2 tournament playing one year up. The Ville have added a couple of 8th graders to their roster this weekend (and are missing one of their 7th grade big men in Jason Hatcher), while the Thunder is playing with their normal 7th grade roster.

 

To me, there are 3-4 teams playing D2 that should be playing in D1, while there are a couple of D1 teams that should be playing D2. I expect D1 to come down to NE KY Royals, The Truth Elite or Hoop Dreams -- I will take NE KY. In D2, nothing has changed my mind to think Scott County doesn't waltz to the title.

Isn't there a KY KINGS team that is pretty good. They went to the King James Classic in Akron OH this weekend.

Yes, their is a Ky Kings team playing in King James Classic. Their made up of kids from the Southern part of the state.
