I would say the Wolfpack are to be considered an early favorite with their lineup. Louisville Storm are also ranked up there. I think if the NKY Warriors can win their pool and get the bottom bracket play they can avoid the STorm/Wolfpack atleast until the finals.

 

I honestly dont know much about a lot of the teams this year so its hard to say. I think the Richmond Stars will be very tough. Should be a good weekend of basketball. Why only 15 teams in D2 though?

Rainman as much as I am a Wolfpack guy, the Truth Elite is probably the favorites. I think their downfall will be coaching, but they are huge and athletic. I saw the game they beat the Rising Stars earlier this year and even though it went back and forth, the Truth Elite dominated the game because of their athleticism and size. However, the Truth only played 6 players and the 6th was a definite drop off from their first 5. Out of all the teams that everyone complains about D1 vs. D2, they are definitely a D1 squad. I always say though, that it is the coaches call and they know their team the best.

 

Good luck to all the teams this weekend. I have to say I'm rooting for the Thunder in D1 and the Wolfpack in D2.

I have to disagree with you. Kids pick up life lessons in everything they do, both good and bad. If you are involved in AAU, you obviously spend a lot of time playing basketball. This can be either good or bad depending on the team and situation. Basketball can teach some wonderful life lessons like good work ethic, teamwork, respecting others and winning and losing with class. These lessons will take the kids much further than basketball ever will.

 

IMO, life lessons should be high on the list of everything a child participates in.

Russell Co. spindoc can fill you in more. I guess its some former NE KY Royals and some new kids. Front line is huge going 6'4, 6'1, 6'1 and maybe another 6 footer.

No sir. I was only asking which 5 they would start. Some times we see some younger kids and sometimes we see what I believe is their best five. I also didn't know if any of the boys were too old.

 

Yes there is a certain team in Kenton County that has been thrown for a loop. I'm still not sure what kids will be dressed when we make that trip down there this weekend but if we can get the kids to keep their intensity up for the WHOLE game, we will be fine.

The Wolfpack have had some recent conflicts with baseball but all nine will be there this weekend.

Little over 24 hours before Show Time!!!! I know it's a small Field in D1 and D2. " But"... I personally think it will be one of the most exciting state tournaments in recent memory.

 

D1, I think it will be a coin toss between The Ville and G-Town Thunder, in the end. Raising Star's being the sleeper because they are very well coached with good players. I watched them this past weekend and they find away too stay close, until the end of the game. Were a few plays and breaks can make the different. They always play The Ville, close and hard like the Thunder. Sorry, I don't know much about Hoop Dreams except, Larry and Braxton, both a very good talent, they will win some games.

 

D2, I think it will be a close one between the Wolfpack and Truth Elite. I would not over look the Warrior's, Richmond Star's and Russell Co., if they can handle the basketball.

Somerset would have dominated the DII if they would have played. I think they had won it 2 years in a row. Why in the world did Somerset not go this season. Lynch and Gover did a great job with the kids and they won everywere they played. They were my favorite team to watch. Exciting style of play and great coaching, too bad they aren't there.

The Wolfpack is a D1 team. If you pick the best best players from all over your region you should play with the big boys. The Wolfpack should win the D2 division. I don't know about the Truth Elite but the Wolfpack recruits all over N KY and is a D 1 organization playing in D2
