Good luck to all the KY teams in today's games. In Div 2- River City Hurricanes/SpinDoc's boys destroyed a team from South Texas 84 to 19. Richmond Stars led by Dominique Hawkins got by Hoopsquad 45 to 39. Madison Co Colonels were defeated by a team from Arkansas 59 to 39.
July 1, 200818 yr HoopDr reports that the Georgetown Thunder defeated the Cincy Knights today 50-40 avenging 3 earlier losses this year. The Thunder went on a 22-3 run and never looked back led by Quin Richardson with 19, Mason Monroe 15, and Luke Hill had a big game chipping in 12. Tyler Page stymied the Knights with a tremendous defensive effort as well. Congrats to the Thunder. The Thunder are 1-1 in pool play and have a big game on Wed vs. a team from Texas. Richmond STars fell to the Franchise Ballers from Niagra 61-43 to fall to 1-1 in pool play in Div 2. Congrats to the Madison Co. Colonels for their big win in Div 2 over Brentwood TN 66-53. The actual stats were as follows: Richardson -- 16 points (13 in the second half) Monroe -- 15 points Hill -- 7 points and 8 rebounds McFarland -- 6 points Portwood -- 4 points and 8 rebounds Down 16-4, the Thunder changed to man defense from a 2-3 zone that had given the Knights trouble in the previous 3 games. They also went big, inserting Hill into the 5 spot and moving McFarland to the 4 and Portwood to the 3. The size for the Thunder helped them cope with the Knights front line, and the guard play of Monroe and Richardson was far superior to the Knights' guards. Huge game today for the Thunder against Allnet from Texas.

G'town Thunder 56, Allnet 52 Arizona Gym Rats 55, Louisville Rising Stars 54 The Ville won by a bunch, something like 62-16 Thunder finishes 2nd in their pool at 2-1, Rising Stars 3rd at 1-2 and The Ville first at 3-0..... The Thunder plays Ft. Wayne Spiece Knights tomorrow morning....The Knights were last year's 6th place finisher and are coached by former UK player James Blackmon ..... They have Brenton and Bryson Scott (twins) who are awfully good .... The Thunder has its work cut out for them .... Today, the Thunder struggled throughout, scoring only 4 points in the first quarter, but putting enough runs together late to pull out the victory....Braxton McFarland led the way with 14 points and 17 rebounds, while Mason Monroe scored 16 and Quin Richardson had 13.

Just got a call and the Thunder eeked out a victory today in the 1st rnd of the Div 1 National Tournament Championship bracket play over Ft.Wayne 66-62. The Thunder were led by Mason Monroe (Pendleton Co), Braxton McFarland (Lex Tradition) and Quin Richardson (Scott Co) with 19 pts a piece. Big win for the Thunder, if the Cincy Lakers advance in their game they will meet up in a 2nd rnd matchup.

Good Luck fellas shoot for a high placing at Nationals. The Ville look like they are playing good basketball. They advanced to a 2nd round game tonight and havent lost yet at the Tournament. Represent the KY well boys. Louisville Rising stars are in the Classic bracket and they one their first game of bracket play against the Minnesota Hustlers.

July 4, 200818 yr The Thunder vs Team Memphis was featured Highlights on ABC news in Memphis tonight. What a great game even though we lost in overtime. we are playing some good baskestball and representing the state well. Quin Richardson, Taylor Gover,Mason Monroe & Braxton Mcfarland are getting alot of attention in Memphis!

They will be playing in the consolation bracket. Good luck. No excuses but they should of been in the final 16 with the Ville. Maybe some home cooking by the referees from Memphis vs a Memphhis team???:sssh::mad:
