July 4, 200818 yr The Ville were beaten in the 3rd round today by ARC from Los Angeles CA 43-41. Even though they got beat, a 2 point loss to one of the best teams in America is not too bad. Ky 2013 is very strong indead!
July 5, 200818 yr The Georgetown Thunder were eliminated from the national tournament by the Georgia Rim Rockers. Congratulations on a great tournament. Although you all did not come home with any hardware, the success you did have was a great accomplishment.
July 5, 200818 yr Congrats to all the teams but especially the Georgetown Thunder and the VILLE who represented the state well. I believe the Ville are playing in the consolation round as I type. Great exposure for the kids as I am sure many college coaches were tuning in.

The Ville has knocked off the Indy Elite to advance to the 6th/10th place game against the DC Blue Devils. I would expect The Ville to win this game tomorrow. By the way, The Ville's Round of 16 loss to ARC was on a game winning basket at the buzzer. They again proved (they finished 11th last year) they are one of the best in the nation. Just an update on Georgetown Thunder and the competition they faced this week ..... YOMCA Team Memphis that knocked the Thunder out in OT (by the way, the Thunder missed a layup at the buzzer of regulation that would have won the game) will play in the 13th / 14th place game tomorrow, while GA Rim Rockers (the GA state champs who knocked the Thunder out of the touranment by 13, although they scored the last 7 points of the game to make the outcome look worse than it actually was) will be playing in the 7th / 11th game against the Texas Titans and Ft. Wayne Spiece Knights (a team the Thunder led by 18 in the 4th quarter before settling for a 4-point win in the first round of bracket play) is playing in the 8th / 12th game. So, as mentioned in earlier posts, the state of KY definitely has showed itself to be very competitive in AAU basketball. I expect the Central KY Warriors and Northern KY Tarheels to continue that trend in the 12U Div 1 tournament next week. In fact, 3 of the Thunder kids also play for the Warriors and all 3 made nice contributions this week for the Thunder.
July 6, 200818 yr The SOKY Elite 11/u made up of players from the Albany Bulldogs and Somerset Future went 2-0 in pool play today dfeating last season's National champion King of the Court,OH, 51-50(sonsored by Labron James) and the Jason Richardson Ballers, MI, by 20+. The Elite play the Carolina Preditors tomarrow.

The Thunder was wanted to play in the USSSA nationals, but the tournament has been the same week as their AAU nationals for the past 3 years....
July 7, 200818 yr I love this Kentucky 2013 class. Their not a lot of flash with these kids...just kids that know how to play the game. These kids have played against some of the best player in the country and held their own. Congratulations to The Ville and The Gtown Thunder!!!!!!
