1-Beechwood, I respect their excellent program

2- NCC, same respect

3- Central, nothing against Belfry because they have a great program, but Central played the toughest schedule in the state and they have never been to a final before.

4- Lone Oak, nothing against LC but they have been there before and its nice to see a new face with a super QB.

5- BG, because I have met the Purple Hazes and I know how much it means to them.

6- St.X for obvious reasons!

1A Beechwood

2A NCC

3A Central

4A LexCath

5A Bowling Green

6A The Tigers of St. Xavier High School

LCA, NCC, Belfry, Lone Oak, BG, and St. X

 

That's my list...

 

I'd really like to see LCA win. That program has just emerged, while Beechwood as won tons of titles.

 

NCC - I've got family from Newport, so I usually cheer for Newport or NCC when possible.

 

Belfry - Always pull for the mountain teams in Louisville...especially the ones that directly compete with Breathitt County.

 

Lone Oak - Love to see programs come from nowhere and win it all...Lone Oak isn't really a household name in high school football, so it would be cool to see them finish this cinderella run off in style.

 

Bowling Green - They've been on the cusp for a long time it seems and Highlands has won enough.

 

St. Xavier - Trinity has more titles, so I go with X.

Well, I screwed it up. I only voted for St. Xavier in 6A and not the other classes. Now I can't go back in to change my votes.

 

Didn't read the instructions before I voted. It's a guy thing ya know.

 

So here are the rest of my favorites in the other classes:

 

1A - Lexington Christian

2A - Newport Central Catholic

3A - Central

4A - Lexington Catholic

5A - Bowling Green

In 3A obviously I am rooting hard for Belfry.

 

In 1A its LCA because Mark Carroll, Belfry alum, is on the coaching staff.

 

Plus I'm a sucker for the underdog/Cinderella story.

 

So I am for Lone Oak in 4A and Fort Campbell in 2A.

 

In 5A I'm torn. But I have cheered for Bowling Green the last two years because of the PurpleHaze's and so I am hoping they will pull this one off for their sake. I have friends at Highlands too, good friends, but they have won their share and it won't hurt them if I cheer this time for BG.

 

In 6A I'm for Trinity. Even though rockmom is cheering against my Pirates. :cry:

Beechwood, New Cath, Highlands...the Trifecta

None of them … all of them … I just want quality games.

4A-Lone Oak

5A-Bowling Green

1A-BEECHWOOD-Because they are from NKY.

 

2A-NCC-Because I know lots of NCC folks and they are good Catholics.

 

3A-CENTRAL-Because they gave the Birds a good game and I Don't like Belfry.

 

4A-LEX CATH-gave a good game to HHS, and they are some good Catholics.

 

5A-HHS-FO SHO-Let's go get number 17! I know that you can do it!!!!

 

6A-TRINITY-I actually should not be voting for the Rocks because we want to catch them and tie for number 1 in most state titles at 17. However, I have not been treated very polite by X fans, so I guess it's only a process of elimination. Go Rocks! Guess we'll just have to settle for sharing the record for only a day. I'm OK with that, for now............

Ditto, Ft. Campbell with Bardstown, but also because they were awful nice folks and I think it would be cool to picture a bunch of soldiers dancing in the sands of Iraq following an upset Falcon victory.

I'm liking that picture too.

Newport Central Catholic of course .

Highlands , because I have friends that send their kids to school there and have coached a lot of Highlands Middle school kids on our grade school soccer teams in the past .

Beechwood because of the great rivalry our schools have .

Louisville Central because they are the Underdog .

Lexington Catholic because they are a disliked private .

St X because I had a nice dicussion with some St X fans at the Frischs' on Popular Level road after the games Friday night , and I want Highlands to tie Trinity's record this year

MY PIRATES... OF COURSE... THE REST, WELL, I COULD CARE LESS....

LCA, Belfry, are the only 2 teams that I would like to see win, but congrats to all teams who will be there.
