My support of the Birds does NOT entail a "level playing field" relative to state championships.

In 3A obviously I am rooting hard for Belfry.

 

In 1A its LCA because Mark Carroll, Belfry alum, is on the coaching staff.

 

Plus I'm a sucker for the underdog/Cinderella story.

 

So I am for Lone Oak in 4A and Fort Campbell in 2A.

 

In 5A I'm torn. But I have cheered for Bowling Green the last two years because of the PurpleHaze's and so I am hoping they will pull this one off for their sake. I have friends at Highlands too, good friends, but they have won their share and it won't hurt them if I cheer this time for BG.

 

In 6A I'm for Trinity. Even though rockmom is cheering against my Pirates. :cry:

3A - I have split feelings on this one; but after reading some comments in their game thread, I'm leaning toward Central.

LOL, I understand and I was only kidding. I posted in another thread, (maybe the Central PTHS thread) that if any other team were playing against them besides Belfry, I would be rooting for Central big time.

St. X because they beat Meade which beat Nelson County, so I can say in my own twisted logic that we were ousted by the eventual state champs.

 

Ditto, Ft. Campbell with Bardstown, but also because they were awful nice folks and I think it would be cool to picture a bunch of soldiers dancing in the sands of Iraq following an upset Falcon victory.

 

Lex. Christian because Bluto requires a lot less moderating than all of the posters from the Beechies.

 

Bowling Green because Ft. Thomas doesn't need any more, because they didn't win last year, and because Mr. and Mrs. PH deserve something to cheer about.

 

Central. They are just a great story and they just deserve it.
