Thanks for the nice words. Not only am I awake but I am heading out for more sports broadcasting. My part-time, voluntary broadcasting job here in IL requires me to help out with two basketball games this afternoon.

We had a whole classroom behind the library with which to work. I like that better than a cramped, dark, cold pressbox.

 

Other than having to press up against the window in order to see the scoreboard and the corner of one endzone, it was more than adequate.

Very impressed with Highlands. One of the best "teams" I have seen in recent years. LC was totally outmatched. I think most true football fans from this area saw this coming, however I was still proud of this team. They truely overachieved. Most local experts expected LC to win 4 or 5 games. Not go to the semi's.

 

You all have very courteous and friendly fans. Enjoyed the stay and good luck next week. Even though I doubt you will need it.

 

BTW, even though the 21 pts clearly came against the backups, I was still glad to see the team get them. I am sure other teams have faced the backups and not scored. Better than 0, lol.

Glad you enjoyed your stay (other than the result of the game, understandably) and got home safely. I wonder why your squad wasn't given more pre season "respect" or whatever you want to call it by the local experts. I saw a pretty talented, hard working, very well coached group of kids out there for Lincoln. Add into that a returning qb, whom had started for what 3 years and I'd see nothing but pre season optimism. The biggest thing that surprised me about Lincoln was the relatively small number of players on the squad. I was told that there were only about 44 kids on the team and some of those were frosh (don't know if that's true however, so if its wrong, please forgive me). I would think that with French as the coach and Lincoln being a 5A school there would be more players. Has Lincoln traditionally had small numbers like that? If its been due to a lack of interest in the school, I hope this year's very commendable run encourages more kids to come out. Good luck next year and thanks for the best wishes for next week.

 

By the way, I wanted to edit this post just to mention how impressed I was with your qb. Has a very nice arm and scrambles extremely well. His legs got him out of trouble several times for decent yardage in the first half.

You are absolutely right. Many teams this season have faced the reserves and have not scored. The Pats have a very nice team and will no doubt be back in the playoff mix next season!

The Pats need to understand that they're no longer a team struggling to win a playoff game. They are a state quarter-finalist. That should be their new baseline. From here on, anything less should be regarded as a disappointment.

 

The team's focus seems to be (as it should) on winning the state championship. That should be their one and only goal. The Pats have raised the bar, and now it must be raised again.
