jbwill2 Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 The game was 49-0 HHS at the half. HHS played their backups about all of the second half, which is when LC got their points. Cecil, Conner, and Hurtt all had a huge first half for the 'Birds! HHS advances to the Kentucky Class 5A state championship game next week with a 14-0 record. LC finishes the year with a record of 11-3. Congrats to HHS and Go 'Birds next week! Congrats to LC on a great season and really fighting back in the second half.
NamecipS Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Congrats to LC on a fine season. Congrats to the 'Birds. One more to go!
Admiral Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Congrats to the Birds!! Good job and great season Lincoln Co. Props to you guys from the Admiral Nation!!
jbwill2 Posted December 1, 2007 Author Posted December 1, 2007 It was quite a demonstration by HHS in the first half! They scored on every possession. That's 6 TDs, 2 FGs, and a 2-pt conversion.
John Anthony Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 This game could have been 70-0 easily. My guess is the Birds were pretty "physical" in the first half.
kydlineguy Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Congrats to Lincoln Co. on a great season. Making the State Semis is an accoplishment in itself and to play Highlands at Highlands during the playoffs is no easy task. Congrats Bluebirds, now bring home another state title home. What will this be? #17
75center Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Birds are trying for number 17. Second half seemed to go quick as I ran out for a little while and the game was over when I got back. There never was a running clock, was there?
RoadRunner Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 There was a running clock the whole second half.
Birdsfan Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 This game could have been 70-0 easily. My guess is the Birds were pretty "physical" in the first half.I had to laugh when I heard one of the Lincoln radio guys say that their big surge in the second half was due to the players executing adjustments made by Coach French. He then went on to say that this was the kind of game that, without the running clock, they might have had a chance. I heard our fans grumbling a little after the 2nd & 3rd teams gave up 21 straight points off of two successful onsides kicks by the Pats. But, had our first team played the 2nd half, it would have been a shut-out, and possibly of historic proportion. That being said, the radio guys were very complimentary to our players, our fans, and the facility. Pats had a great year and should be very proud of all they've accomplished this year. Birds move on to the big Papa!!!!!! GO BIRDS!!!

There never was a running clock, was there? According to the update thread, the last quarter only lasted 15 minutes. At 9:15, it was posted that one quarter of football remained. At 9:30, it was over. Based on that, I would think that a running clock was issued, but I have no clue.
gametime Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 49-0 means running clock the whole 2nd half...
Rebel Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 49-0 means running clock the whole 2nd half... Even if you get the score under 45 the clock still runs?
