Coach Dale Mueller has to be the classiest coach in the state of KY tonight. He could of hung 70 on the Patriots but he opted for Jthe V players and gave the Patriot fans something to cheer for. Dale played along with Coach French's onside kicks in the second half which disguised the score to look like it was respectable. Not a chance coach but nice try. Great year for the Pats and I dont see anyone beating the Birds in 07 for Number17.

Game - WOW, this should have been much worse than it was. From the first defensive stand, it was over. Great season Lincoln, keep your heads high...I believe you are going to have lost to the eventual winner this year.

I think both teams came through in good shape.

If Simon is #44 then I agree, that hit was great. He was like a heat seeking missle, almost like he knew the exact play from the snap. LC didn't help themselves with about 3 drops on nice passes in the 1st half. HHS was an absolute machine on both sides of the ball, very efficient on offense. Two plays that stand out were the penalty on HHS giving them 2nd and 16 from insided their own 20 and the next play Cecil goes the distance, I think he's still running and has been spotted in Falmouth. Later the LC defense swarms Cecil for a loss, next play HHS rips off another long TD. I did think the timeout with :01 was a bit overboard to kick the FG when they were up 46.

I think that given how much time the subs got the second half, it all worked out pretty well in the end. I think Dale and Co. wanted to max out the offensive productivity for the first half, knowing that the backups were going to be taking it in from there. Also, the FG made it a 49 point lead (7 full TDs). Finally, it allowed the HHS FG unit to practice rushing out and quickly setting up a FG attempt... something the 'Birds might NEED against a team like BG come next week!

Congrats to Highlands on the win. Congrats to Lincoln on a great season!

I had to laugh when I heard one of the Lincoln radio guys say that their big surge in the second half was due to the players executing adjustments made by Coach French. He then went on to say that this was the kind of game that, without the running clock, they might have had a chance.

 

I overheard some LC parents that actually believed LC was moving the ball and shutting down the Birds 1st team in the 2nd half. Could anyone that watched the 1st half, seriously believe that? Talk about your rose colored glasses.

I don't think any 1st teamers played in the 2nd half except for when the 1st team defense came in for 1 series to let Coach French know that beating,or even coming close to beating Highlands wasn't going to happen. This game was over in the 1st quarter.
